sell something on craigslist, (this may not sound great but...) if you have a plasma bank nearby they will buy blood (they don't pay too badly either and I think you can do it 2x/week. ummmmmmm, still thinking will come back to you if I think of anything else. Oh (MAYBE, short term) payday loan (they loan up to $600 till next payday). still thinking here, will come back to you.

Housecleaning? Cash in hand, average $20 - $30 an hour..you can advertise for free on craigslist or put up flyers in stores.
If none of the above ideas work....Call your bank and try to renegotiate your loan. If you can prove some sort of hardship that is creating your shortfall, many banks will work with you to mitigate new loan terms(lowering interest rates, extending the loan length, etc., trying to get to a payment you can afford). Even if you have missed a payment or two, some banks are adding that short fall to the back of the loan, so you won't have to come up with a huge payment to catch up. As you probably know, there are MANY people in this same situation. Most banks do not want your house, so try to work with them. FYI-I read an article that stated the average foreclosure costs a bank over $40,000, most of them are very motivated right now.
I know your DH is a mechanic.... have his hours been cut? just asking because craigslist could be a great place for him to advertise for side work.... just about ANY owner opp. trucker would be thankful for a reduced rate on a repair.
He could post on CL and have you work out the scheduling so it doesn't interfere with his regular job.
He could put up flyers in local truck stops.
HTH
sending p&pt your way!
people who think they have power and over react to everything..... need a big
I agree with the above statement. Call your lender. They really do not want your house. I thought this was going to happen to me also. I screwed up my bank account and got behind. I called them and made arragements. They have been very nice about it. I have one more payment to make and I am all caught up.
I'm a real estate agent and I 2nd (3rd) the above. Call your bank. They do not want to take your house. Trust me they own more houses than they want already. Tell them your situation and find out your options. Before you decide to take any options, tell them you need to think about it and call them back. Then, really think it through and see if the plan works for you or if you need to go back to them with something a little different. If you want, you can PM me with the name of your lender and the state you live in and I can try and give you some more strategies to take to the bank. (Different banks are offering different work-outs)
Good luck and keep the faith!
I am sorry but I disagree. I lost my house last Christmas in a foreclosure your best bet is to find a company that will help you in this horrible time. There are company's that will help you save your home. A refinance or a stop foreclosure. My lending company was washington Mutal and they DID NOT HELP!!! They would not even give us time to make up the payments. The other option is Bankrupcty chapter 13. This allows you to keep your home as long as you make the required payments on time.
Iam soo sorry to hear about your home, My family is being laid off and I have lost my job as well. I had to sell everything that meant anything just to feed my kids. If you have kids you can apply for diversion through DSHS and they will help you catch up on your bills up to $1500.00. House payments included! The housing authority also has help for folks in need. If you are low income you can get help with your phone and electric bill though the housing authority as well. Maybe you could use that money for your home?
GOOD LUCK
