Freezer full of food for $1600.00

This afternoon my doorbell rang. It was a man in a pickup selling case loads of meats, asking if I was interested in buying some.

I thought I could get rid of him easily with the truth - that my chest freezer died recently and that my refrigerator freezer was chock-block full. nope..

him: "Oh well we can give you a free freezer. You'll just need to buy x amount of cases. It's a great deal, just sold one the other day, blah blah blah."

Finally he gets to the real nitty gritty and says 'For just under $1600, you get a freezer that's full to the top with meat. We accept cash, checks, credit or debit cards'

$1600.00? he was so proud of himself that he could help me replace my freezer and fill it with meats for me.

I told him that with couponing that even if I bought the freezer for full retail price, I could probably fill it with meat for a lot less than $1600.00 total.

So yeah, he didn't get a sale of out me today.

$1600? Even if you didn't coupon, you could do much better than that. With couponing here lately, $1600 would be a 2 year budget. We've only spent about $50 that past 3 months with help from HCW. $1,600? Yeah...right.

yeah - $1600 - ummm, dude - seriously, I can buy a calf, a piglet, and a flock of chickens - raise them up, grain them out, slaughter them - and still get out under 1600 and have 4 freezers full of meat - oh yeah, and several dozen eggs and new chickens to start again.

we have those guys come around here trying to sell too. They have a freezer on the back of a pick up truck

for $1600 I better get 5 freezers full of meat
