What would you do

I pretty much know what the answer would be, but I thought I would ask anyway.

My daughter is turning 8 at the end of this month and has been begging for an easy bake oven. I bought one for her at Toys-R-US last week, then on Saturday went to a yard sale and guess what I found? Yep an easy bake oven for $3. I bought it and it appears that everything is there, I just need to wait for her to get out of the house long enough to make sure it works. So should I return the one I bought from Toys-R-Us? I don't think she would notice that it is not new (it is not in a box).

i agree....return it! my neighbor and i just did a garage sale together 2 weeks ago. we had many, many toys that were in great condition and barely used. that's where we made the bulk of our money. the ones that we didn't sell, we took to a re-sale shop and they paid us for them.

Definitely return it.

Even if she does notice it's not new, that could turn into a great conversation about saving money and helping out others (buying things they no longer need).

Re turn it... and buy a great big gift bag and some jiffy cake mixes wrap everything individually and put it in the bag she will love being able to make a cake that afternoon. Don't forget the 100 wat bulb.

I agree. Wrap it up fancy. Once the new one is open it becomes used also. So the only difference is in your pocketbook.

Yep - I say return the new one & wrap up the used one really nice. An easy bake oven was one of my favorite gifts as a child. She will have fun!

THere is something exciting about that new shiny box, that feeling that it is HERS and ONLY hers...
