I say return it. I used to give my DS gently used gifts all the time when he was younger - he never realized a difference (and nor would he care). I would still do the same if I found something I knew he would like - it is more difficult to find those things when they get older. I once bought my DS a used (but like new put back in the box) Little Tikes play cube with a slide. He played with it for about three years (only inside) and then I washed it off really well and took it apart and put it back in the box. My 3 yo niece got it for her birthday.  So she got a $50 toy for her birthday instead of some cheapie $10 toy. I asked my sister about it ahead of time and she thought it was a great idea. |
