People who didn't evacuate What is WRONG with people that they ignore the very clear message of "if you stay, you will more than likely die." I mean, how much more clear can you be than telling people that, and that if they choose to stay would they please write their SSN on their arm in sharpie?
So now that the storm has hit and these idiots have realized, whoops, maybe this wasn't such a good idea, other people are going to have to risk their necks to try and save them. Ugh.
Re: People who didn't evacuate Yeah, I know. If I was the spouse or parent of someone doing rescue over there I'd be TICKED. It's ridiculous.
And then of course there's the small matter of the COST of those rescues -- which WE pay for in TAXES!!
I do really worry though that if there are lots of people who came through OK riding it out that one day another Andrew will come through and folks will just ride it out at their homes, to a very sad end.
Re: People who didn't evacuate I AGREE!!!!!!! I liev very far west in katy texas and we evacuated Thurs mid day. We are in Wichita Falls texas. I could soooooo not put my kids through sitting there without any power. My husband stayed back due to work and he is saying that it is raining sooo bad water is coming in through where the doorbell is outside of our front door and the sheetrock is gettig wet inside of our house :*( WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PEOPLE WHO STAYED. ARGGGGGGGG

Re: People who didn't evacuate I live in tornado valley, and we are lucky to have a couple minutes notice, and it just blows my mind that with all the notice you get from a hurricane, that people dont evacuate. I understand its their homes, their memories, and things they worked hard for, but all that will mean nothing if they are dead. It's not "cool" to stay, your not "cool" if you rode out a hurricane, in my opinion you have a couple screws loose. Get to dry land and come back home when its all clear, its not like you can shield your house from a hurricane, it will do the same damage whether you are there or not.
All the potential victims of this and every other hurricane, is in my prayers, and I wish them the best, even if they did stay!
