South Florida and Gulf Coast People

keep an eye on Ike. Right now the NHC has him moving south of florida and turning north once past florida. He could possible turn into the Gulf.

Luckly overnight he has went down to a Cat 3. Just keep an eye on him and stay safe.

I knew that out of the 3 one was bound to be a biggin. Hopefully it will decide to stay out of the US....

Thanks...I live in South Florida, Miami to be exact and I am really scared of this one. Please all that read this say a little prayer for those in the path of this mammoth storm. My boys have never been through at storm of this category and I'm not sure how they are going to handle it. Anyway, to those HCW member that are n SF and elsewhere prepare now and keep safe.

Please, if you are in the target zone of that storm's landfall, LEAVE. I know it's irrtating to leave but your life is worth more than the aggravation.

I didn't have to go through Andrew or Katrina - but I did go through Fran, FLoyd and a few others in NC several years ago. Stay safe, and if they save leave, then leave. I'm back in Central FL now and watching Ike as well.

ughhhh...we just back in last night. It took us over 13 hrs to evacuate for Gustov. I know alot of ppl that have already said if Ike heads our way, they are not leaving again.

He's at cat 2 as of 11am. The projected path is thru Cuba and then into the Gulf of Mexico and a straight line to New Orleans.

Now this all depends on the weather patterns but this projected path is the most likely. IF a trough comes in, it could break up the high pressure in the Altantic and Gulf of Mexico and turn Ike towards the Eastern US Coast.

Just keep an eye on it. The NHC update Ike's progress at 2am, 5am, 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and 11pm.

guess its a good thing my suitcase is still packed. This is not helping the migrane I haven't been able to get rid of since Monday.
