Don't forget that you can also ask your doctor if they have samples of the drugs they want you to take. Many times they do, especially if it's the "latest and greatest". That is what a coworker of mine did with his cardiologist. They found that the only drug that worked for him for his colesterol is the name brand of one of the drugs. He had tried the generic, and the insurance refused to cover the name brand due to the cost. His doctor puts aside 3 months worth of the samples he gets and gives them to my coworker. Check with your doctors, especially if the cost is high or you are uninsured.

It is crazy what some people end up paying to stay healthy or even just remain alive. I feel blessed that we have health insurance and that my medication costs are minimal.

Now if my Rheumatologist decided to put me on one of the fancy new-ish RA drugs they are advertising on tv all of the time I wouldn't feel so darn lucky. From what I understand, those can run a few thousand dollars for each treatment and are given from once a week or once month depending on the drug.
All sorts of deals for all shades of green.

He can decide all he wants, but as a patient you have the right to decline the treatment and ask for an alternative. Just food for thought.

Always ask the Pharmacist if there is a cheaper equivalent, a good pharmacist knows much more about drugs than any Doctor, also many of the Drug Companies do discount plans for people with limited income.

We had to take my oldest to the ER one time when we were without insurance. The ER doctor gave us a script and sent us home knowing we didn't have insurance. Well I took it to the pharmacy to get it filled and when I went to pay for it I flipped out it was $120.

ISO) Winetag's good in IL (NAPN, NWPN)

I will be on vacation from 6/5-6/15.
