I'll be popping a bottle of Champagne tomorrow morning at 9 a.m sharp

When the sun rises tomorrow, it will be the first day of the rest of my life...the first time in seven years when I'll be all by myself (for most of the day) ...

Tomorrow is the first day of school for my youngest child.

My only concern that I might be the odd woman out in the midst of all the moms who'll be tearing up with the thoughts of their baby all grown up.

I know how you feel. Four years ago I nearly did cartwheels back from school after dropping the youngest one off. Just me and the dog and he sleeps all day. Husb has off most Fridays so only four days to myself right now but I'll take it.

My youngest started half day every day preschool this year. I was one of the moms not happy about my youngest starting school and being out of the house.

Well, let me tell you, they started 2 weeks ago, and I got over that FAST!!! I almost dread the weekends when they are all home now. And the half day that she is gone...it is just not long enough some days!!

I cried when my first one went, but got over it. I also sobbed when he left for college, but once I got used to it I started to count the days til his brothers are gone :)
I love my kids dearly, but I'm ready for some quiet!
Please think of me at 9-I'll be trying to get 19 kindergarteners settled back in after having a long weekend with mommy!

LOL-I now have 3 teens and school time is my time! 1 in college and 2 in high school, I really need to get a job, but this is the life-except for the stomach ulcers worrying about teenagers!

OP, I cried when I sent both of mine off. They are one year apart and very close, so it didn't help that they were crying too from missing the other one.

Now that they are in second and third grade, I can't wait for school to start every year!! They really love their school and their friends, and I love the time to myself. It is so very quiet in the house!

Toast for me, honey, you deserve it! I'd drink one with you but my kids are home today -- darn hurricane!

hubby and i are going out to a special lunch today for just us to celebrate kinder starting!! it is exciting and wonderful! i cannot begin to figure out what i will do with all the spare time!! i will join you in the champaign!!
