Well on my radar. I went ahead and got a couple of cases of water since they were BOGO at foodlion this week, but my stockpile will carry us the rest if this thing comes ashore.
She's a cat 1 and the projected path is eastern side of Florida and Georgia, SC and NC coasts.
She is expected to get stronger once Gustav is gone. Keep an eye on her.
Don't forget, Hurricanes can go inland very far. In 1989, Hugo was a cat 1 when it hit Charlotte, NC (200 miles inland).
Stay safe everyone.

I hope that Hanna stays far away from the states. My dh and our tree service just went down to do tree work in Louisiana a few days ago.
I would always have emergency staples stashed away for emergencies water, flashlights w/extra batteries, high protein non-perishable foods, hand sanitizer and alot of other things. We are not in hurricane zones but our power goes out in the lightest of storms and I always have to be prepared sometimes it takes days till power comes back.

Yeah we're battening down the hatches at the naval base I work on in VA. We're near the coast & it should hit here on Sat.
Ruined my weekend plans, not to mention DH was already scheduled to work on Sat, so I'll be riding this out with three kids at home alone:frown: Luckily we have plenty to carry us through if it is bad.

I'm in Hampton Roads, VA too. We just got gas (have a generator), filled the cars up, added ice bags to the spare freezer and pulled in the patio furniture.
Looked in the pantry (inside and outside one) and have enough stockpile to ride out for a few weeks (HELLO MY NAME IS MARSHA AND I AM A STOCKPILE ADDICT).
Now that we are completely ready hopefully she will turn a little more and miss us!!

In the meantime, we've been receiving a lot of the fighter jets, etc. from the east coast bases. The air traffic over my house has been crazy for the past few days...and it probably won't slow down for a while. WDTN Dayton Ohio Weather and News |Wright-Patt to become safe haven from tropical storm
