geesh! i wish school would hurry up and start here! kids dont start until either the 22nd or 26th(i cant remember what day the shcool told me, but im supposed to get something in the mail)
DS went back today; DD goes back tomorrow for a half day and Wednesday for a full day.
I'm so excited! Both of my kids were bored, and they'd play Wii from sun-up to sundown if I let them. I didn't, so they fussed. DS was so happy last night to be going to back to see his friends and meet new ones.
DD is a little apprehensive, but looking forward to going to the library (she's my brainiac reader) and seeing her friends. We took her supplies to her classroom today and met the teacher. We saw a couple of her friends, and one of them didn't even speak. I told her I was sure that they were busy getting their things settled too. She's so happy to be seeing everyone again!
As for me -- I'm going to the gym tomorrow! I can't wait to get back to running. I'm planning on running a 10K in the spring, and the terrain is hilly at best, so I need to be in much better shape. I can spare a few pounds, too, so the weight loss will be a welcome change. I'm hoping that the increased blood flow from exercise will help my arthritic hands too.
Today after I dropped DS off, me and DD had a little girl time -- we bought her some new earrings and a track suit from Limited Too (they have a good sale going on now, BTW). DH met us for lunch, and DD has been playing the Wii since then. It's about time to get DS, and I'm looking forward to seeing him. I put a couple of mama notes in his lunchbox and agenda today that I hope made his day special.

DD started 1st grade this morning. She was so nervous though she had a tummy-ache. I hope she's doing better when I go pick her up.
Poor DS cried all morning because he thought he was going to get to start today but has to wait another week

We start school on Wednesday. I'm ready for it, but on the other hand, I'm not. My oldest has ADHD and the beginning of the year is always a bit rough until he settles in. My daughter is ready to go, she's been so excited the last few weeks. Things sure will be a lot quieter around here with just one at home!![]()

DS is home and made several new friends at school today. His teacher is super nice, and he is in class with one of our old neighbor's children. We moved a few months ago, but before that, DS and this little girl played nearly every day. I'm so glad they're in class together. He got a good behaviour report, which I'm very pleased about. He told us all about his day, and DD was jealous -- she said "so I guess tomorrow afternoon will be all about MY day???"
Girls are a most dramatic mess.

My WISHLIST!
Ewww, poor dd has to start school in the pouring rain! It's been raining for well over 12 hours here and the frogs are kicking up a major fuss. Thank goodness we're used to the bullfrogs otherwise none of us would've gotten a wink of sleep.
Now I'm really debating about that trip to the gym, you know it IS raining...lol
Be thankful. We don't start until 9/4 here!
My son and daughter both started back to school yesterday. Blessed silence reigned in my house! I work from home, so it's a challenge during the summer, believe me! I hardly knew what to do with all of the peace and quiet yesterday. No fighting, yelling, loud video games or tv's or any of that to deal with. Nice.
