Would be interested in a Meet-Up Section on hcw for trading, raoking & just plain 'ol meeting others in your area? If there is enough interest, maybe they will add one. I think it would be great fun to meet others.

I've met 1 local HCW member in person and now we chat about coupons/stores all the time. I think it's a great idea!

I voted no, because...while I might not seem that way here...I am painfully shy, and have some social anxiety issues. Just thinking about meeting people gives me hives!!! Although, I DO think it's a good idea for people who want to do it.

xufan~thats the cool thing about the internet...you can have great friendships w/o the face to face or use it as a tool to meet others in person.

I'm for it! I've already met up with Lv2Shop and have gotten to speak with her over the phone. It's a great way to learn from each other (or me from her right now) and to be able to compare notes on local stores. For example, I told her today about the different experiences I had regarding competitor coupons at two Albie's stores. One had no problem taking a Target q, the other let it slide, but said they don't consider them a competitor because they aren't a grocery store.

That kind of info could prove to be vital in the success of our shopping trips. Also, if we were able to form some sort of local group, we'd have the opportunity to place orders from stores and things like that.

I think a meet-up forum would be cool... but I'm wondering if it could be more of an "area shopping news" (plus meet-ups, local trades, etc) forum. I know there have been times that I'd like to ask about or share info for my local area but didn't have a good place for it here (sometimes I put it in my local Kroger region's forum, since that's my only area-specific forum right now)...

While I like the idea of meeting other couponers I just can't get over the idea that it might not be secure for people to post where and when they plan on meeting. There are just too many scammers out there that can figure out your personal info and plan to bulgarize you when they know you will not be home. I would only think this is a ok idea if it were somehow blocked so only members of the forum could see it. But I think that's the point of having PM anyway. If you notice someone in your area you can just PM them to plan a meet-up without everyone on the web reading about it. Sorry to seem so cynical about this, I had to vote "no".

On a side note I do like the idea of having a place where we post about specific local area stores and what we found there since clearance deals can be in one store and not the others.
