I am sooo thrilled that this lady will be starting a column in my local paper! Check out this introduction column about her- there's even a pic of her with some of her freebies-- several of them are things I recognize from Qs and deals I found here!!

Sounds like it will be interesting reading but be prepared - you may end up with more competition in your stores.

Yeah, I've thought about that... but I'd say it will take a while for many folks to catch on.

Plus, I have 3 different areas where I regularly shop, all of them rural and 20-30 miles away from the city where this is published. Traditionally, weekend papers and hometown papers sell best in this area, so this column coming out on Tuesdays should help with that too.

But most importantly, I (and others on the board from my area) have a great resource the others won't have-- HCW! If she waits till the current week to tell about deals in her column, in most cases we'd already have had 2 full days to take advantage of them!

There in nothing in that article that we cannot do ourselves with HCW, this is just going to clear the shelves a bit quicker, and in Georgetown they are getting cleared out quick enough as it is now.

The biggest frugal tip I can give is do not buy the Herald Leader on Sunday for coupons, the Courier Journal and Cincinnati Enquirer have about twice as many coupons as the Herald Leader each week. The Enquirer is a quarter cheaper anyway.

Okay, going a little OT in my own thread, but dawright03 doesn't have enough posts yet to PM sooo...:shrug7:

Where can you find the Cincy paper in the central KY area? And is there anywhere you can get Sunday's Courier Journal or Cincy Enquirer on Mondays (besides their newspaper offices)?

Oh, and BTW-- there are 2 or 3 paper boxes in Lexington where you can get the Herald Leader on Sunday for $1 each. One is near UK campus, on Rose St, and I have my friend in that area pick up an extra paper or two when we do get good Qs!
