I know it feels weird to charge a sibling as I have charged my brother before for items I give him from my stockpile. I also give him plenty of stuff for free so I know he is grateful. The difference is that he offers to pay exactly what I would charge at my garage sales and he knows that he is getting an awesome deal. Yeah, well then, it wasn't "charging" him. He was doing just as he should: reimbursing you for anything he gets from you. And you, being such a great sister, are plenty generous to him. Sounds like everyone is playing nice all 'round.

I dont think you overreacted at all! My sister would never do that, she knows how much time and engergy I spent on building my stockpile! It sounds like she needs to learn boundaries and start contributing. Also, maybe she was just showing off, like it was "her" little stockpile?

She's the baby (of the two of us). I feel responsible for her. I've always been there to clean up her messes.

So far things are working out. I buy the stuff and get it cheap and sometimes free. She pays me the cost that I paid and the stock pile continues... I paid like $2.XX for the hair care stuff she got from me for a dollar. Had I not had the stockpile she would have come out of pocket by $15. It seems to be making sense to her and she doesn't seem to mind giving me what I paid so she has more money to blow!

I'm there to help whenever and wherever I can. I just don't want her to feel it's my duty.

You are still out money. You should charge her EXACTLY what you paid. If you paid $2.00 for all those items you should get that and not just a dollar. Start charging her the exact price. You're losing money.

I have a hard timetimes selling things to people at the cost I PAID. The reason I say this is because who is to say I will get another deal that good on a item I can use? On top of that, you need to figure out the time and hardwork put into the purchase. Does this make sense?

yeah you have a valid point.I think people just see all that stuff and think "well it was free" and they don't take into consideration the time and energy it took to build everything up,you are right.

as far as OP getting upset yes I think you should have because she didn't ask and once again just took advantage of the situation.I don't mind giving people stuff,but it's mine and well...it's mine.Ours as a family and I mean immediate family as far as wife and kids.

I politely disagree with PP. If I charge someone for stockpile items, the price I sell at will be higher than the price I paid as my efforts and coupons went into the find.
