| Re: Kids Say the Darnest Things! I know that my son picks up on everything that we say and retains it for using later on, but I know this one didn't come from me, for a change!!!
He has this thing about not being able to wear his jacket in the car.. He just has to take off his coat, or sweatshirt before he'll even sit in his carseat, much less get buckled in. I'm guessing that this winter when it's really cold out, that will change!!! So after preschool today, I opened his brother's door and both boys climbed in. I was buckling in ds#2 and told Steven to get in his car seat and I'd come around and buckle him up. He gave me the look of the devil and said 'I have to take off my freakin' jacket'. OMG.
And then tonight at supper he was wearing just a tshirt and his underwear and he said 'my freakin' legs are cold'. He has never said that before (I always say flippin' not freakin' so that's how I KNOW it's not from me) today and then to say it 2 times in a 4 hour span.... Makes me wonder just what he's learning from the other kids at school. Although I guess it could be worse!!!

| Re: Kids Say the Darnest Things! These are cute stories...I'll share one. Several years ago dd, my mother and I were watching TV and flipping around the channels. There was some nature show on and they were showing a giraffe...having NO idea what they were showing/discussing, suddenly, the giraffe gave birth! :Shocked3: (not that it's a bad thing, we just weren't prepared and the baby came FLYING out, lol!).
Before I could think of something to say, my daughter said loudly, 'EEEEEWWWWWW GROSS!!!! That giraffe just pooped out a baby!!!!'. We still laugh about it...of course, dd is 13 now and just kind of rolls her eyes, lol! |

| Re: Kids Say the Darnest Things! Too funny!
I remember when DS was 4 1/2, I would drop him off every morning at the base daycare. One of the providers was a heavyset gal named Jennifer. Nice young girl and very good with the children. One day after I picked him up, DS asked me in the car, "Mommy, why are people fat?" I tried to explain that some people eat too much, don't exercise and get bigger. And then there are those who have a medical problem that prevents them from losing weight. I didn't think anything of his question since it was spontaneous and unprovoked. The very next day we get into the classroom and my precious little ball of testosterene walks up to Miss Jennifer and promptly replies, "Miss Jennifer, you're fat cuz you eat too much and don't exercise, right Mommy?" as he turns around to look at me.
Ughhh.... I wanted to sink into the floor. I was already kneeling so I just smiled and said, "C'mere baby... Give Mommy a kiss, I gotta go!" OMG, the look I saw out of the corner of my eye from Jennifer would have stripped paint from a ship, it was THAT corrosive! |
