Yep... it took about a week before I gathered up the courage to explain to her what had transpired. Even though I gave her the same explanation I had given DS, our relationship was never the same again. I always felt a detached coolness about her whenever I came in to drop off or pick him up.

Oh, the things Miss Jennifer had to say about YOU to the other teachers that day...

Actually, kids are very nonchalant about this type of thing. To a four year old, being fat is the same as having red hair or a ring in your nose...it's just something different from what they're used to. Being heavy myself, I've run into similar situations. My favorite came from the daughter of the Chinese lady who was altering my wedding dress.

There I stood in this woman's living room in a hoop skirt with crinolines and a 12 foot train bustled in the back, looking much like the Bride of Michelin Man. Her six year old daughter came out of her room, drew back in amazement and said, "WOW! You the biggest lady I ever sawed!"

I nearly died laughing. Her comment helped though... I ditched the hoop skirt and bustle and looked much better!!!

My cousin, Isaac, was in kindergarten last year. (my mom is the oldest of 9 and Isaac's dad is the second to youngest.) The weather was getting cold and he had gotten a new coat for the winter. He is a very heavy child. He is now 6 and weighs 75 lbs. His favorite teacher was on bus duty this particular morning. He gets off the bus and walks up to Miss SoandSo and says "Do I look fat in this coat?" I about fell out of my chair.

The first time my DD went trick or treating she was just over 3. She put on her princess costume...went to the neighbors house with her plastic pumpkin and her older more experienced trick-r-treatin brother and watched and listened as he showed her the ropes of getting candy for yelling out something called "Trick-r'Treat......the problem is she didnt hear him quite right. After watching him do it at 2 house....she got the hang of it and dashed off to the 3rd house way ahed of her brother........(while the parents stood the appropriate distance away in the driveway)....and ran to the door and screamed........CHICKEN FEET

We still tease her at Halloween....she loves it and always tells us she wished she were young enough to go "Chicken Feeting" again!

I was in the kitchen a few minutes ago and the 2 boys were playing nicely in the living room. Trevor apparently wanted a toy that Steven had in his hand because I heard Steven say to his brother 'Well, you can want it all you want, but you're not going to get it!' ROFL That one I can promise you he heard from me!!! lol
