Default Re: CVS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)-- Updated and Improved!

The rainchecks are supposed to be issued when the item is not in stock. They never expire, and are good at any CVS (it's printed right on the form), so I don't get the "you could travel" thing... you're supposed to be able to.

If there are ECBs, they are supposed to write the event code on the raincheck. That way, when you redeem it, they punch in the code and it generates the ECBs.

Cashiers have been known to make things up.

I feel that I didn't get a real answer. Then the cashier says 'you could travel around to different cvs''.

Is there an official policy on rainchecks with ECB?

I have gotten several rainchecks in the past for items that have ECB attached to them. I haven't used them yet because when I have asked 'how' to use them, the response it always the same...don't know!

Thanks in advance for any help!
I got some pushback on getting a raincheck for the Fusion Gamer razor this week as well. I explained that I was going out of town and could not check back at their store or other stores and wanted to be able to use the coupon I had. I made sure that the cashier recorded the event code, too, so I would get the ECB's when it was in stock.

Another store said they thought they had never carried the Gamer but I still requested the raincheck because it was in the CVS ad and maybe I would find it at another store. I tried to ignore the grumpy attitude. Does anyone know--do the stores get a ding or something if they are out of stock on an item and the raincheck is redeemed at a later date? Why the reluctance to provide a raincheck? Or is it just the effort the cashier has to make? TIA.

Thanks for the help. I am going to try it again and explain the code thingy in relation to the ecb.

I wish that CVS would start a 'ding-system' for the consumers. Please rate your experience today at CVS....

One ding...store equiped with human bodies.
Two dings...store equiped with human bodies, some functioning.
Three dings..store has full functioning bodies available, you left happy.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm friendly with one CVS manager, I stop in several times on my way into work. Her store doesn't carry the Gamer. And she showed me in small print in the ad where it states that all products may not be in all stores, or something like that. She said that since her store does NOT carry the Gamer she cannot issue a rain check. Made sense to me and I didn't push it.

Now I DID get a raincheck at another store that carries the Gamer but was out.

Thanks, that makes sense. I did see Gamer displays in some stores in earlier weeks, so it was not a standard shelf item like in some other stores, but they had some on an end cap in some stores or in a "misc." aisle, along with other promotional stuff. That's why I thought they should issue the raincheck. :)

Can anyone help me with redeeming an old pre-event code raincheck with a new ecb promo? Can I do this?

In 2 weeks crest pro-health will be $2.99 with $2.00 ecbs back. I have a raincheck for 2 free boxes. Can I use this raincheck to get them free and earn the ecbs or will the raincheck override the ecb promo? I have plenty of experience with rainchecks but I've never tried this one. Thank you :).

I am fairly certain that it is either/or. You cannot combine promos.

So when an item is BOGO, you can't buy one at half price - right?

Also, when an item is for example 2/$5 or 3/$11 - do you have to purchase the total amount to get the sale price or can I buy 1 for $2.50, etc.?

Thanks!
Nope, BOGO means that you can get two for the price of one, or one for the price of one. LOL

You can get one for $2.50, unless the ad says otherwise.

When you get a card, there are 2 little keychain cards. Get 1 of those for every person you will be shopping for and mark them so that you would know whom this card belongs to. Then, when you shop, just do multiple transactions under different cards.

I asked her why they were doing that now and she said 'because if you do it the other way you could end up with a 0.00 balance.'

Has anyone else had this happen? I hope this does not become a regular thing, Maybe they think I have been getting too many things for very little lately, but I have not had any 0.00 balances in a few weeks I think!?!?

Let me know if you all have had this happen or heard of it happening, okay? TIA ;)
There is no problem with you having a $0.00 balance at CVS. That particular cashier probably has not been trained well or is resentful what she sees as people getting things for "free."

You are allowed to get $0.00 balances and you are allowed to use ECBs, coupons, etc in whatever order you see fit.

Next time just tell her that you will hand them to her one by one and that if the cash register has any problems with what you give her it will beep to let her know that there is something incorrect being done.
