QUESTION Combining $5/2 and $2/1. And proper order of couponing

    Hi all,

This may have been answered. I'm new to forums so please foregive me if I'm not posting correctly.

In the CVS paper (1/2-8/2011) Nivea is on sale for $6.88. I have coupons for $5/2 and $2/1. Can I combine these? I also have ECB that I am going to use. Oh and one last question. I have heard of the "proper" way of handing your coupons. Can you address that as well?

And one last question for the minute atlease. lol. If the ad says spend $$ get $ ECB. Will the MFC count against the $$?

Ex: Spend $10 get $5 ECB. Listerine $5 MFC $1/1 = $4. Do I have to buy 3 to get the $5 ECB.

Thanx for your help. Happy couponing.

    Leisa

The only way you can use the $5/2 AND $2/1 is if you buy 3 items. The $5 off is when you buy 2, while the $2 is off 1. You can use your ECB on top of a manf coupon (as well as a store coupon!)

AFA proper way to hand over, I always give any amount off purchase off first, like $4/20 etc. Then ECBs, store coupons, then manf q's. Sometimes I'll give store &/or manf q's first, ask for subtotal then hand over ECBs b/c sometimes I miscalculate and my total will go negative, when I should have used less ECBs to start.

Last, manf q's have no bearing on spend X get $Y in return. As long as you meet the required amount, and purchase the right item(s), your ECB will print.

Since the $5/2 and $2/1 are both mfr cpns, you would need to buy 3 Nivea to use them both. If one was a CVS cpn and the other a mfr, then you could have used both and only bought 2.

Mfc do not reduce your spending amount. So for the listernine, you only need to get 2 @ $5 to satisfy the $10 spend requirement, regardles of what coupons you use. The only time something doesn't count toward your total spent is if the CVS sale is like B1G1...then only the 1st item would count toward your total.

some time when you have a little time, fix yourself a cup of coffee and read through the wagon train post up in the sticky area. i spent a year answering newbie questions in fairly good detail, and it should give you an overview of the whole process.

and, welcome- glad to have you aboard!
