CVS ~ Other: Is anyone else disappointed with the upcoming sales??

I seen the ads through 09/04 and I am totally disappointed. Nothing good at least not yet. Maybe some good coupons will come out but I just don't see anything that has great potential.

Is it just me or does CVS throw us some really good deals then for weeks there is absolutely nothing. I guess I have been spoiled lately. Maybe they are gearing up for some really good fall deals since the holidays will be approaching.

Todays ad was awesome. For -.04 plus tax I got 4 Sobes, 1 Purex laundry sheets 20 ct, 2 Right Guard deos, 1 blink tears, 1 Zegerid and 1 Dawn hand renewal. Would have got a free toothpaste too but they were out for now. I think the deals are still great!

I think lately the stores have a good week & then a few bad weeks. It's not just CVS really but all of them. My Sobes are 2.19 each and the q takes off 1.69 so for me it's cheaper to use them somewhere else where they are $1 each like Hannaford. I didn't get the Right Guard since it was regional and didn't get whatever booklet had the hand renewal in it either. We don't use a dryer so the Purex is a waste of time. I'm going to grab a Zegerid & a Proglide. Since I got the Zegerid a few weeks ago from I think Rite Aid, I'm not real impressed.

I agree that todays ad was awesome. I got a 2 pack of pens, 4 notebooks, 12 sobe, 4 right guard, the purex 3 in 1 and 4 warm delights (had a rain check). I didn't realize until I got home that my total was -.24 and I paid about 1.50 oop for tax. I was sooo excited I started to look to see what was in the upcoming ads and they are posted through the begining of september. I guess I was just really disappointed after having such a great week. There are so many good coupons that are set to expire the end of this month and I was hoping to use them.

I also agree that other stores have slowed their sales too. I suppose it's ok. I need a break anyway. There have been so many great sales and I have been overwhelmed.

I think today's ad was pretty good! I got some good deals, but I am just starting out so I haven't been able to see a trend.

I see a few good things here and there but nothing I feel like going to the store for. I'm sure for people that want or need those things it's not a bad week. I think regional pricing and tax rates come into play too. The 8/29 ad has a few things I want.

IIRC this month is always a bit slow after the school supplies which really didn't even happen this year and then it stays slow until the bulk pack ecbs and holiday stuff starts up.

I have to agree... I struggled trying to put together a scenerio. Didn't help that I had $19.50 worth of ECBs expiring this week. DH is overboard on razors, but didn't want to just burn ECBs, so I went ahead and got the pro-glide, the Purex sheets and luckily found the Blink stuff. Still have a $4 ecb left to use.

I am excited...this week I have many trips planned...not sure about next week or beyond. This should be a good CVS week for me at least.

I think that I'm just getting kinda burned out. I mean, it's a lot of the same stuff, plus I haven't gotten a $/$$ in months, so I'm kinda meh on bothering to put together scenarios.

The BOGO Sobe was fun while it lasted, but several times I've run into problems even trying to use just one coupon ("you have to get 3") so I've not even been bothering.

This weekend we realized we each needed to have a phone, since he's going to school here in Greensboro and I'll be working in Winston-Salem - I actually considered using up all my ECBs toward a prepaid phone and just sitting out CVS for a while. Unfortunately they didn't have the model that would work with the plan we wanted, so I had to go to Target. So I guess I'm still in this thing.

I thought the deals were pretty good this week. Here is what I got in only one of my deals:

12 Sobe
10 Citronella bucket candles
4 Nivea cherry lip care
1 blink

I paid with 12 in ECB and $.77 oop and got $9.99 ECB back.
