That's fantastic!
A while back I read an article in a retail trade publication about super couponers. Manufacturers actually commented that they like super couponers, because it gets more exposure for their brands.
I just had to share the following post I put on my blog, Simply CVS, with you guys. Love to have confirmation that those coupons, extra bucks and rebates are out there for us to use.![]()
I have heard people comment that CVS and manufacturers can't be happy with "super saver" shopping. That they can't intend for us to save as much as we do. From the response I have gotten from four different CVS store managers, I know they approve of my method for saving (extra bucks, coupons, etc.) and today I received confirmation that manufacturers back our couponing, too.
I always knew manufacturers wanted to get their products in your hand and will offer unreal deals to get you to try their products hoping you will get hooked. There are several products we have tried because of CVS deals and now use regularly. Today I posted about a Schick Hydro deal that would be a money maker if you combined the extra buck deal, the coupon and the rebate. Whenever I post at Simply CVS I tweet it on Twitter and put it on Facebook.
Well, today my tweet was retweeted by non other than Schick themselves (see the retweet here). So they were using my post about the super CVS deal matched with their coupon and rebate to advertise on Twitter. So you can see, they are happy for us to do what is necessary to get their product to try.
I'd like to invite you all to visit my CVS blog: Simply CVS

Cool! Thanks for sharing. Gotta spread some love before I can rep ya.
I've always thought that manufacturers should like what we do. We move a LOT of their products. And the money that they spend reimbursing stores is already budgeted for, so it's not like they're losing anything.
Think about how much of the products we buy that we give to others (family, friends, strangers, etc). Think of how many tried their products just because we gave it to them...We are advertising their product for them and if we spend even a few seconds to say 'I got it at ____ store' we are advertising for the store too!
Great post, thanks for sharing.
So true. And most of us also donate products which in turn gets other users hooked, many who probably do not use coupons. Chinet hooked my hubby good
Razor companies are a prime example, they give the razors away because they hope you get hooked on the cartridges which is where the money is. They see suckers like my husband a mile away. He refuses to switch brands, he won't even use another free razor of the same brand with just a slightly different cartridge (like the fusion, gamer etc.) He thinks tossing handles and buying new razors (even if you are buying it for free with a coupon) is a waste.
It makes me cringe every time he buys cartridges, I can't change his mind. So I take all the freebies I can get for myself.
Very true!
Couponing is how I discovered a number of products that I now MUST have!
Like: Pantene shampoo, Wanchai Ferry frozen dinner kits, and etc.
The stuff that I get free from couponing that I can't use myself, I give it to friends and family, as well as needy families. Some of the family members that I have given products to, they like some of those products so much that they continue to buy them.
So yes, it's worth it to the companies to let us do a lot of their advertising for them by getting free stuff. We do the best kind of advertising because we get the actual products into people's hands.![]()

Doh! Are we married to the same man???? My DH will NOT switch from his Gillette Sensor. Nope, not even for free or a moneymaker. He will also NOT switch from Barbasol shaving cream (the original green/white one) or Speedstick deodorant (the original green/white one). Doesn't care how much money I saved or made. So, I use them
