    QUESTION $4/$10 Maybelline Receipt

Today at CVS I got a CRT for 4/10 a Maybelline color cosmetic purchase. Maybelline Falsies mascara is 2/10 this week with 3ecb if you spend 10. This will be a deal for me as I have 5 ecb's to spend along with the crt....BUT

my question is does this crt apply to mascara? It says color cosmetic purchase. my thought is mascara is a cosmetic and black is a color. Or is that a stretch? Like this coupon may have been meant for lipstick or eyeshadow, etc. I don't like to off coupon and would never intentionally do it.

Just looking for anyone's thoughts. Thank you.

The easiest way to be sure it will ring up properly if you use it for mascara, is to ask the cashier before you attempt to make the purchase.

If I get a CRT I'm not certain about, I go first to the cashier before I even shop, that way I know it's all good when I check out. And if they're not sure, they'll tell me they can attempt to ring it up and see if it works. That way if it doesn't, I'm not dealing with saying "no thanks" and get caught up in that confusion at the check out.

Thanks...I will ask first. If the CRT had just said Revlon cosmetics, I wouldn't think twice about it. But it says Revlon color cosmetics. Doesn't most if not all cosmetics have some sort of "color" to it?

Again, I strive to coupon ethically and wouldn't want to use it for something it really wasn't intended for.

I agree, poorly worded raises so many questions. Personally I would "assume" it would include mascara because that is a make up product, not a skin care item and therefore would qualify. BUT, who knows what goes into the wording and the mindset of the person who wrote that CRT

Worse, the person writing it could have been ~gasp~ a man!

Aren't they the ones that also design so many poorly fitting bras for women? Ok, ok, I'm not bashing men, really! I married one!

more then likely it will scan reguardless. theyre system is all sorts of stupid for real. but they would prob side with your theory of black being a color and it being a cosmetic. since mascara comes in brown as well sometimes even BLUE!

Yeah, but according to Revlon, nail polish is not a cosmetic.
