Default Prescription Transfers?

How often do they run the deal where you get $25 for a transferred prescription. I'd like to change mine from Walgreens to CVS (I just like CVS better lately and go there more often), but also would like to make it more worth my while ;)

Assuming you have Rite Aid in your area, you can take their transfer coupons and CVS will honor them. If you can't find them in the ad, you can print them from the RA website.

I took a Kroger's prescription in to my CVS tonight, and they wouldn't give me it's value. They said they don't honor competitor's coupons. Did they stop this policy and I just missed it??????? Had I known this, I would have filled it at Kroger's and used the $ for the mega sale. I can't find anything regarding this policy on their website.

No Rite Aid here. But actually doesn't Kroger give $$ for transfer prescription as well? Maybe I'll just transfer my script to Kroger if CVS isn't offering $$ for transfer. I probably spend more time at kroger than cvs anyway, LOL

There are q's in the Kroger's ad for $25 for transfers. I spoke to my CVS and they said they honor competitors coupons and would take the Kroger's q. But only one per person. So, I'm gonna be transferring one to CVS and one to Krogers...You'll just have to ask, guess it's up to each store.

I think each store or region makes it's own policies on this depending on the type and amount of competition they have in the area. I know my CVS takes competitor coupons from any pharmacy/store as long as it's a nearby store (ex: we don't have a RiteAid, so they probably wouldn't take their coupon).

I emailed early this month asking about competitor RX coupons and got this response:

Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy. I am in receipt of your e-mail on wanting to know if CVS accepts competitor’s coupons. We accept all competitor RX coupons up to $25. There are no limits of what type of competitor it is.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to switch it back just go to Rite Aid and have them do the transfer. CVS should "return" the one they filled when they get the call for the transfer...Just make sure you got the right amount of refills on the script when you pick it up to be sure they did it right. hth
