CVS ~ Question: Raincheck & unadvertised limit?

I was wondering if a rain check would work if the unadvertised limit is more then what is posted in the sale ad>

For example the John Frieda this week is listed as one deal which I have already done but the unadvertised limit is 3. If I get a raincheck for 2 more deals will it work after this week is over?

I think this will be a YMMV... at my store the cashier will write on the raincheck the unadvertised limit and then when I redeem the raincheck they would manually give me the deal BUT the store in the next town will not put the deal limits on a raincheck and unless you can show them (in writing somewhere) that you should get it, they will not give it you.

I would ask the store you intend to try to do this at how they would handle it...

I figured that since they put in the event code to print out ECBs, the system would recognize that you'd already gotten that particular deal with that card and limit you just like it does during the week of the promo.

That was just a guess, though, since I've only gotten one raincheck and haven't used it yet.

No, the computer definitely doesn't realize that you've done the deal before. If you can get 10 RC's then you can do it 10 times.

I personally have trouble getting even the nice cashiers to give me a RC for more than the advertised limit. But, yes, I have gotten more than one RC on an item before and used them both...It will work no problem! (I just wouldn't use them at the same time )

My store is very strict about writing RCs. They will put the advertised limit from the flyer. No way around it. They are super friendly in every other aspect, but they follow what the ad says.

My store is strict as well; but since it's a smaller store, the free after ECB items get sold-out very early in the week. I ask for a raincheck every time I walk in, and usually end up with 3 or 4. Works out better for me than if they were not OOS.

Huge YMMV. Most stores will only write a RC for the limit advertised.

There is no YMMV when you ask for only one raincheck upto the limit. If you visit the store four times in a week, you can end up with four rainchecks.
