Exactly. But I only ask for the number of rain checks that give me the limit, whether it be advertised or not.

It is nice to have separate rain checks to spend individually - if the advertised limit on an item is 5, and they give you 5, you are stuck needing to buy 5 at once. Then you get a huge rain check that's hard to spend.

You might find a super friendly store that is willing to let you buy in separate transactions, but I'd rather not even have to ask. Just like I'd rather not ask for 5 widgets on a rain check when the advertised limit is 1 or 2 but you hear through the grapevine that the limit was raised.

All of my area CVS locations let you use, say a quantity-5 raincheck, to buy just one. Then (mostly) they cross out the said 5, and write 4 instead. Or (sometimes) they write a new raincheck for 4 (in this example). Then they hand you the raincheck for future use.

That's a great way to do it. I'll have to ask if my CVS will do this too. But doesn't that mess up any ECBs on the deal?

Thanks to everyone who has reponded. I don't think I was clear on the question. I know the event code will not go threw on a raincheck if you already did the deal and you have reached your limit. In the rare situation when it is an unadvertised limit of say 4 but the advertised limit is one and you do the one deal but the shelves are cleared off so you can't do the other 3 unadvertised deals and you need a raincheck for 3 deals will the ecb's print ok even though the limit was originally advertised as one?

    Thanks!

I would think it is WMMV. The stores I shop strictly go by the ad.

I think the answer to your question is yes. But getting the RCs may be an issue if your store knows you and knows you did the deal once (the advertised limit), but you want a RC for 3 more, KWIM? It doesn't hurt to try!

Mine too, which makes it stink that much more when they are out of something.

THe same thing for the Bio-True month long deal money-maker right now. They are sold out and I can't get a rain check because it's not in the current ad.
