Re: Expired Extra Care Bucks
I am told by the CVS manager that if you call the customer service number, they will actually reissue you a new EB to replace an expire one. Never tried it before, but that is what I was told. My store takes expired ones too.

Re: Expired Extra Care Bucks
This just happened to me. We went to Calf. for vacation and a few days after we got back I was cleaning out my wallet and found an 8.00 ecb and it had expired 2wks before. I freaked out and called a store to see if they would take them and he said no, then I called another store and they call customer svcs and they "might" reissue it. I called and she said as a coutrsey they would reissue it and it would be able to be printed in 48hrs from the store. I waited a few days and it printed out just fine, the exp. date is not till 8/1.

Re: Expired Extra Care Bucks
All the stores I shop (KCMO area) take expired ECBs, and one will even take expired CVS coupons "within reason" (like two weeks or so). They just have to key it in, push it through, override it, or whatever you want to call it. Once I was waiting while the cashier was finishing up with a gentleman that obviously was new to ECBs (he had just tossed them before, not understanding the deal). She told him to hang on to it and the next time he was in he could use it, they never expire, but he can't use it on perscriptions (etc). I told him to keep it in his wallet just like cash!

Re: Expired Extra Care Bucks
I had an ECB that I somehow allowed to expire (it was just a few days expired). I tried to use it normally at a store and it beeped (oh, and it was poorly printed and it did not scan, so the cashier had to enter it manually). The cashier did not notice the date and I wasn't going to tell them. She managed to force it through, but when she totaled the order I ended up being a penny negative, so she called over the manager. Rather than deducting the last coupon and putting it through for a penny less, the idiot voided the order and started again. Same thing happened, voided again. She did it again and got thoroughly confused and started scanning my 2 good ECB multiple times and of course they started beeping as well. Then the manager starts looking at the coupon and decides that the reason for the problem is that it is a copy, she says it is not on their normal paper (it was) and it was cut (well how else do I get it off the CRT?). Then she says "well you already used 2 regular coupons and 2 Extracare coupons and the system, obviously won't take more, and I'm not going to take that one because it's not valid." I then pulled out another ECB for the same amount and it scanned fine, but once again I ended up negative a penny (I though the register was supposed to beep?). So I finally just bought a package of gum which I will return for a gift card at some point (I messed up, I should have bought the pretzel M&M's since they had them at that store, and if I had done it the first time she scanned them none of this would have happened). I'm sure that if I had pointed out that it was expired, the manager definitely would have refused to take it.
PS I then went to another CVS store and the manager there just forced through the coupon (he was the cashier). I don't think he noticed the date but he didn't care. I need to report that first manager to CVS since there was no way she should have been accusing me of using a copied coupon.
