SMILE CVS now taking expired ECB's

One of the stores I shop at had always taken expired ECB's within the week. Well I was told the other day that they now take expireds that are more than within the week. It came down from Corp. and that it is not advertised. So I went in today and gave them an ECB that expired on the 8th of this month and they didn't even bat an eye.

Not sure if this is old news to you all but it is new news to me and I'm lovin it . No more having to waste the ECB's on something you don't really want just to roll it.

So make sure and ask your stores because they are not volunteering this info unless of course you are buddy buddies with some cashiers

I have a feeling this is still going to be a HUGE YMMV issue. I know my people still look at mine before they even try to ring it.

The manager at my store is AWESOME! But, that's the one issue he will not budge on. He says it is his understanding that it is up to each individual store manager and chooses not to accept expireds.

    That's my thought.

I was told that they are now getting reimbursed for them unlike before they werent getting reimbursed. I actually have one store that I would shop at occasionaly and they took expireds, but she just took the lose on them. I'd certainly ask and if nothing else call CS and see what they say.

Remember like I said this is unadvertised and came down from Corp, so I was told today.

Oh, I hope that this is true. I have about $40 in ECBs that expired on the 9th, I didn't use them because I was sick.

When did it go into effect? I had a couple expired recently (May 18 I think, maybe a few days before or so about) and they caught it & wouldn't accept it.

I was told by one of my stores last week. Its the store that always took my expireds and she had told me that they now get paid for them and that there is a special button that they use. I really didn't think to much of it. Today I went to my regular store and asked and they said yes, it is true. They got a letter from Corp and its unadvertised but they do take them and get reimbursed for them, thats all I can say.
She took my ECB that expired on the 8th with no problem and this is a store that the Manager is strictly by the books.

I would just ask your store and see what they say. Maybe its possible that not all stores have been notified yet, I dont know what else to say.

    Good luck to you all

Has anyone tried calling CS to see what they have to say?
