    QUESTION cvs---Who is correct?

EDIT: I went back on Friday to talk with the manager of the store about the Aussie coupon and she thanked me for coming back to try to fix it, but she said she wasn't worried about it at all and that I was fine. I then asked her about the Herbal Essence coupons also, and she said she was fine with them used together unless it was more than the products.

I had the following items and following coupons, which to my understanding is correct, however the CSR (whom I alway have problems with and makes me feel like I am stealing!!) denied me using these together and was told I needed to purchase and additional Herbal Essence item to use both coupons.

    PURCHASING:
1 Herbal Essence Shampoo $2.99 sale price
1 Herbal Essence Styling Product $2.99 sale price

    WANTED TO USE:
#1 - $1.00 off any one Herbal Essence shampoo, conditioner, or styling product (excluding trial sizes)
#2 - FREE Herbal Essences styling product when you buy any Herbal Essences shampoo, conditioner or styling product.

    Thanks.

EDIT: Coupons in question are the Herbal Essence $1/1 shampoo, conditioner or styling product and FREE Herbal essence styling product when you buy any Herbal Essence shampoo, conditioner or styling product. I should have left out the Aussie, but it was part of my transaction. Sorry for any confusion. I will delete the Aussie coupon now.

    THanks for all your replies.

Being able to use a x/1 coupon with a bogo coupon tends to vary between stores. I believe it is technically true that you can use them together but there is a lot of difference in opinion about this. People tend to interpret the wording on the coupons differently.

If the $2 Aussie coupon is the same one I used then CSR is correct. The coupon read $2 off Aussie styler when you buy shampoo or conditioner. HTH.

You should be able to use all three...I always do and the register accepts it without problem, but I have found that some people interpret the wording on the coupons differently. Technically, the free q is for the free item and the $1/1 q is for the paid item.

Yikes! I sure hope not. They were from this past weekend's redplum I think. I was pretty sure it said $2.00 off any Aussie Shampoo/Conditioner. IF it did say the other, then the CSR and I both missed it.

Thanks for your reply. This is what I had been thinking and tried to explain to her, however she insisted I was using 2 coupons on one item. She said it was double dipping. :shrug7:

Technically & legally, there's nothing wrong with using the $1 off Herbal Essences in combination with the B1G1F coupon. The kicker is... *if* your store allows it. Some do. Some don't.
I used the two HE coupons in question for the same deal with no problems. My store is really great!

The Aussie coupon from last week's RP reads, "Buy one Aussie Shampoo or Condition and save $2 on any Aussie styling aid". For this coupon to work, you must buy a Shampoo or Condition and the $2 off would apply to the styler. So, 2 products must be purchased to fulfill the coupon's requirements.
(Now, if there was a coupon out for $1 off an Aussie product, then again, technically you would be able to apply that $1 off to the shampoo/conditioner and apply the $2 off to the styler.) YMMV

    Hope that helps!

OP as other PP's have said, the CSR is right. The coupon you tried to use was buy x save $2 on y. You needed to buy 2 aussie products. Using this coupon on just one item is misuse. Hope this clears it up for you :)

Ok. Maybe I need to redo my post. Most posters are referring to the Aussie styling product, but that isn't my question. I was questioning the Herbal Essence. I will go revise my original posting.

I do thank you all for replying. It is much appreciated.

I understand your question, but i'm letting you know, that the coupon you used for Aussie is incorrect. The cashier had every right to not accept the coupons as one was being misused.
