Re: cvs----Moral Dilemma Is This OK? The original question was not about the semantics of ECBs, but about the moral dilemma on whether to accept 2 ECBs, should they generate.
A few scenarios:
- The (example) sale price of an item was $5.99, with $5.99 ECB. Now the price is higher, at $9.99. Raincheck is used. $5.99 paid, not $9.99. $5.99 received. No dilemma.
- At the time of the original sale, one had NO coupon to sweeten the deal. NOW one does have a $1 coupon. Yippee! $4.99 paid. $5.99 received. No dilemma.
- At the time of the original sale, one had NO coupon to sweeten the deal. NOW one does have a BOGO coupon. Yippee! $5.99 paid. TWO items received. $5.99 received. No dilemma.
- Raincheck used. $5.99 (or less, with coupons) paid. Received $5.99 ECB. Received an additional $1 ECB. In my book, it's not kosher. I suspect it's not kosher in your book either, or you never would've asked in the first place. My advice: go with your own conscience. Better to lose the $1 you might have gained, than to lose your self-respect. The ones who advise you different will not be the ones who would feel the shame; you would! No amount of dollars make that worthwhile. |
