CVS ~ Question: cvs---One coupon on BOGO sale?

So, I had the $2 Almay Q's, and I decided to use them since Almay is BOGO this week. I had 6 products and 6 q's. Only two of the Almay Q's would scan and the lady said she couldn't take them (I don't know why- since she could have entered them manually, right?) I asked and she said it was b/c you can only use one coupon on a BOGO sale, and that didn't sound right to me, but I just had her take off 4 of the Almay items.

Has anyone had a problem with these Q's? Do they only take one coupon on a BOGO sale?

I've never had any problems with using multiple q's on a b1g1 sale. I think that the registers are programmed to beep at the cashier for high value coupons so they can confirm them instead of blindly scanning them (they do this at Kroger too). I have had that happen to me a lot when using q's over $1, but the cashier just hits a button and moves on.

However, here is what I just read in an email I had from CVS customer service from last year...

"In the case where a particular item is on sale for “buy one get one free” (BOGO), you are only allowed to use one manufacturer’s coupon. For instance, if Revlon lipstick is on sale for BOGO, you can use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. You would get both items free and pay any applicable tax. The Store Manager can limit quantities."

Guess I (and my cashiers) have been doing it wrong????

Just got an answer from CVS corporate on this issue today :

[momto8kiddos], I apologize for the confusion. In the case where a particular item is on sale for “buy one get one free” (BOGO), you are allowed to use one manufacturer’s coupon. For instance, if the Purex Laundry Detergent is on sale for BOGO, you can use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. You would get both items free & pay any applicable tax. When an item is on sale for buy one, get one free and our customer has a buy one get one free coupon for that same product, the coupon will be accepted and both items will essentially become free (plus any applicable sales tax). Also, two manufacturer coupons can be used on a buy one get one free purchase as long as two items are scanned at the register. The system logic sees two items scanned and will allow two coupons. The Store Manager can limit quantities. Our records indicate that you received a copy of our store coupon policy on May 12, 2009. Please let me know if you misplaced our policy and I will be happy to send you another copy. We appreciate the time you have taken to contact us.
