CVS ~ Other: cvs---New store in Harrisburg, PA...

Just an FYI for anyone living close to Harrisburg, PA, the store at the corner of Elmerton Ave and Progress Ave is going to be opening on Feb. 14th. I just saw the electronic sign out front today announcing it. I was hoping that they would send out some good Grand Opening coupons or info since I live about a min. away but I haven't gotten anything. :sad:

But I am excited that they are opening so it gives me one more store to stalk, lol.

Does anyone know if they usually have any good Grand Opening deals and what time they would typically open? TIA

TWO BLOCKS from my house this new CVS is...I'M SOOOO EXCITED!!! Unfornately I won't be the first one in I have to work but I'll be there sometime today. Haven't heard anything either on Grand Opening Sales/Coupons but I'm hoping for some. Michelle

What are the coupon policies of the Harrisburg stores?

I work in Harrisburg & know that the CVS on Market St (across from Whitaker Center) doesn't take ECB or CVS coupons even one day expired. They also don't mark down seasonal products for weeks/months. (I was told in MAY that a Xmas Essence of Beauty product was full price because 'they don't mark down their holiday items')

I did find some good clearance items there, but not many.

My CVS in Lewistown will accept ECB's & store coupons 7 days past expiration while 10 min. away the Burnham CVS will only accept expired ECB's & store coupons till the last day/Sat. of the same week. (if it expired Mon. I can use it through Sat. If it expires Sat. I cannot use it the next day)

I THINK that the Colonial Park Mall CVS doesn't accept any ECB's/coupons past their expiration date, but I sure would like to hear otherwise as that store seems to be pretty well stocked.

I'm not sure where the other CVS's are around Harrisburg. There seem to be more Rite Aid's than CVS's from what I've seen, although I like CVS better.

Well the expired thing really varies. I think it depends on the cashier, lol. I usually shop the CVS on Linglestown Rd because it is smaller and usually stocked because it is out of the way and they mark down pretty quickly. Most of the time at the Mall the cashiers (usually get the same one) seem to be a little grumpy so maybe that is why you haven't had much success. The reason there seem to be more Rite-Aids in this area are probably because Rite-Aid's headquarters are in Camp Hill. I like CVS better also but that is just my opinion.

With this crazy snow, kids being off school and not feeling well I have yet to be up to the new store (which is putting me into withdraw).

momx2n, I went to that new store on the opening day but in the evening (if that made any difference). BIG disappointment. No coupons, no specials nothing :( I also did'nt get any coupons in mail like other people have posted in the past.

Only good thing is, DH has to pass that store every day for work and he has volunteered to do some shopping for me in future !!

About a week after it opened I received a mailer with coupons in. Which were pretty good, free 2 lt of Coke, $25 gc with new or transferred script, free 25 digital prints, $5 off $15 purchase, $3 off any CVS product. Can't remember if there was anything else. So that was pretty exciting, now I just have to get use to a new layout, lol.
