CVS ~ Vent CVS Out of Stock Compaint!

I like to shop CVS for the deals but gee-whiz, 9 times out of 10 they are out-of-stock on the sale items! And this is ALL CVS's I've been to. I just don't get it :shrug7: cause surely they know in advance what's going on sale & could get in ample supply, but they don't. My experience is that if I don't go to the store the morning the sale ad comes out, then the item won't be there. And often it isn't even there on the 1st. day OR only a couple left.

Yes, I can get rain checks & wait goodness only knows how long for it to be re-stocked but that gets old! Plus I shouldn't have to do that so much. It's just plain ridiculous. Guess their tactic works cause they do get me in the store with the ad.

Who can I complain to that will do something about this? They say the squeaky wheel gets oiled, well I want to do some major squeaking & hope others join me! BTW; Walgreens is just as bad!

Really? I NEVER have this problem.

I would say you need to start by speaking with a store manager, if that doesn't work go district and above til you get satisfaction. I never have problems with stock, not even when they are running meter deals, lol. There is a wags and cvs on every other corner and I can go to any one of them on a saturday evening and still find stock. I hope you get some help with your stock issues.

I'm going to have to agree with OP. I ALWAYS have this problem also. For instance, the Dawn Hand Renewal. I can never get that. I'm always stuck with rainchecks that I can never seem to use because it's never in stock. When it's time for the sale again, they are still out. They know this particular item really sells out, so stock up. How hard is it?:shrug7:

Edited to say: You should be able to call customer service to get some results.

I also agree with the OP. I was there to today and walked out with nothing because they were out of the Gillette body wash. I was there Wed and they didn't have it then either.

I will be going to CVS on Sun morning for their new sale and hopfully I will get what I want.

I have only had two out of stock issues in the last month and by going to another CVS I found one of them, so that's not bad.

But this week, I wanted to scream, I hit 4 RiteAid's looking for the Doves Mens Body Wash and nobody had them! And of course it's a limited rebate offer until the 13th - I quit looking after hitting 4 different locations. Rain check won't do any good to get the rebate because the receipt will be out of date by the time they get them !

aaarrrggghhhhh I'm not pleased with Rite Aid.

At least with CVS you can get rainchecks and be assured you will still get your ECB on the deal too, no matter how long it takes for them to get the product in. Their rainchecks have no expiration.

I talk to the manager. I tell her that I know next week x will be on sale and would like to make sure stock is there. My manager told me she orders on Thursdays for the week that starts in 9 days (so she'd order Thurs 2/11 for sale starting 2/21).

That's how I got 12 boxes electrasol a few sale's back!

Rainchecks will work for the rebate, but you will need to either fax or mail in the information required if it past the rebate period. I have done this myself and quickly received my check which is mailed separately from the monthly rebates. For more information go HERE. The employees may tell you otherwise, so I just say I would still like the raincheck.

I got a raincheck a few weeks ago when the Ester-C was BOGO. One of the managers was checking my out and he said that he heard that they are going to do away with rainchecks. Like, WHAT?

I hope that this is wrong because he also is the one that said he couldnt take coupons on clearance items because they no longer get them in, so they cant prove they sold it. therefore no coupon.

First of all, they can't do away with rainchecks. It is a federal law to protect consumers that if it is advertised (or not) they have to have ample supply or give a raincheck. The only way they can get out of this is if they put on the ad: Limited Supply, or Only supply on hand. So, if they try this, the Better Business Bureau would be all over them, along with alot of others. As for the clearance/coupon thing, that is just crazy. I think I would write to corporate to get there stance in writing before I took his word for it. To many times these managers try to make up things just b/c it makes it easier on them.
