CVS ~ Question: cvs---Question about CVS Event Codes

The Nature's Bounty deal (BOGO on some items and get $3EB when you buy 2) was in my ad a couple of weeks ago and it's in my ad again THIS week.

I notice that the EB Event Code a couple of weeks ago was 10341176. This week the event code is different (10641176), but the quantities for the "old event" are still showing up on my receipt.

I realize that this is supposed to be a "monthly" deal (until sometime in mid-Feb), but why are the event codes different? Does it really make a difference?

Also, I believe the limit last time was (3) as it is this time. My current receipt says, "Quantity Toward this Reward 8" and "Quantity Needed to Earn Reward 2".

Am I safe to do this deal again?

Sorry, I'm 8 months new to CVS and it seems like EVERY week, I have another question. Maybe I'll have learned all "the rules" by the time my one year CVS anniversary rolls around.

You can do this deal again 2 more times i.e get 4 more cause my receipt says limit reached at 12. ( i bought last 2 yesterday and my receipt says limit reached)

I think they have to do that weekly since after a time period the event code leaves the system. If there is a raincheck the manager will just manually reissue with no event code. thats if the event code is no longer in the system.
