Am I the only one NOT getting coupons from the printer ?

I have a theory as to why the scanner machines are no longer giving much in the way of good $X/$X.XX. I just realized that a lot of newspapers in the areas of Longs conversions are offering $5/$20s weekly. At first it was in the Sunday edition, now it is in on e of the mid-week papers.

My theory is that these coupons come out of CVS's advertising budget and they statistically estimate the usage and allow prints at the red scanner machines or at the bottom of your receipts accordingly. However, NOW, with all the newspaper coupons, the usage obviously is going to be WAY UP (or CVS hopes so) in the areas where CVS is "new". Let's face it. They have to wooo customers who have been loyal to WAGs and or Rite Aid with SOMETHING to get them to come check CVS out. This leaves a lot less money for distribution of the $X/X.XX in other areas of the country.

I bet when the new conversion areas stop offering these on a weekly basis in the local papers, people will see them appearing again in the red scanner machines and at the bottom of their receipts.

I think your theory is a good one. From what I've read on the internet, those coupons in CA have had a lot of redemption.

Recently they changed the wording on those coupons to being valid only in the northern California stores and reducing the reach of those coupons.

It explains why we don't see the $/$$ coupons ...but what about the brand specific ones? I thought the manufacturers funded those...seems strange for that source to dry up so much.

Along with the disappearance of the monthly books/deals, things seem different at CVS. They are running advertising about the 4% on CVS products and they seem to be targeting seniors with their choice of spokesperson in the ad. Lots of prescription revenue from seniors I imagine. And seniors can have a sweet tooth and need aspirin and cold products. That's it! We aren't being targeted right now.

CVS'd better be careful. If they starve us too much, we might go elsewhere... Like Wags... FAECB items are good, but $/$$ make it even better and I have not seen any recently... Wags has FARR items too...

I can't even get the daily coupons that you usually get. i.e. cvs cookies and the like. I scan my card and it says no coupons available. It's happened about 3 times. :sad:

I always get 1/2 nuts crackers etc. and sometimes I get a 1/2 CVS tissue...
The only time I have had a $off$ coupon was last year, maybe October, when they had the little red card thingy that had 6 coupons for six consecutive weeks in it.
Yes, I have also figured out that I can get more FARR stuff, because it's not limited, whereas CVS has been cutting down their limits further and further!

I finally got one today that wasn't for Absolutely Divine cookies or CVS pain relief. It was for CVS tissues and CVS skin care. At least I got something, I suppose.

That's not exciting or encouraging at all... It was still a generic one... They just switched them... Where are the good ones?

Both times last week I got "no coupons available" :sad:
In weeks prior, I was down to really useless ones. Nothing good in a long time.
I've never gotten any $/$$ - well, except for the $2/$10 CVS Brand....that's all I was getting for a while.
