DD3 Northern California ~ CVS PEPSI DEAL

If you were planning on buying (8) of the 12 packs of Pepsi for $20 to get your $10 EB, WATCH OUT!!

The front sleeve of the ad shows that they are 2/$5 with a limit of (4). The ad inside the flyer for the EB deal shows that they are 2/$5, but it states no limit.

The registers are programmed to only allow you to get (4) at the $2.50 price. The following (4) ring up at $4.99.

I showed the cashier the discrepancy. Since they saw that in one place there was a limit and in the other there wasn't, they did a price override for the last (4) 12 pks on my order.

If you decided to do the EB deal twice (as the limit is 2), I'm not sure if ANY of the 12-packs on the second transaction will ring up at the $2.50 price; but I don't think that they will.

Since buying (8) 12 pks is really the best bang for your buck (to get you to $20), I just thought I'd give you Nor CA guys a heads up. HTH

i'm pretty sure the limit of 4 is per transaction. it always has been in the past, and can be worked around by separating the order. i taught about this in the wagon train.

I got word from a friend of mine who lives in Mississippi that CVS always has limits on the Pepsi when they do a Pepsi/Lays EB deal. I am shopping at a Longs conversion so I did not know and neither did the cashiers.

Thanks for the link to the Wagon Train, but it is an awfully long thread. I've been couponing for over 20 years - just new to CVS.

I use the same method to work out my deals as you do, except I put the info on the back of a business sized envelope (from junk mail) and tuck all the needed Qs inside. As I refine/complete a scenario I paper clip them all together so they're in the order that I want to hand them over to the cashier.

Thanks so much for your post.

Ok, that's a GREAT method, gotta try that one! I'm usually the one holding up the line, pulling out all the right coupons at the register LOL

And 8 for $20?! Sheesh, in so cal, it's 6 for $20 :P

In peace,

Annye
