CVS ~ Store Coupon: cvs---$ 4 off 20

I need help!!!! I have $4 off 20 from cvs email and $4 off $20 CRT both expire on Monday...can I use them in the same transaction?

I have had some cashiers that will take both as long as to total is $40. Others will insist that they cannot. In that case I break down my transactions so that I can use both.

I've never really researched this so I cannot say which method is store policy

i researched this deeply- and it is one per transaction. ( the reason i was checking was that the manager insisted it was one per LIFETIME !)
