I know. I normally have to walk around with the ad so I buy the right things then I scan them anyways.

I can't really complain to much since I noramlly get all my stuff for free or close to it...

It's not a stupid question. The have to manually replace all of the sale stickers, and when that's done they usually activate the next week's sale. The best thing to do is ask them if next week's sale is activated when you see the new tags up (it probably is). They did tell me that only the regular weekly sale items will produce the ECB's and that if there is a two day sale or something like that, you can get the sale price but the ECB's wouldn't be produced until that actual sale start date. HTH.

My normal CVS is great about letting you "double dip" in the sales on Saturday night, but one I went to last week that didn't allow it. They went strictly by the rules and would not activate the coming up sales or extra care bucks. Needless to say, I will not be going back there and it just made me appreciate my CVS even more. I personally like the night early deals, make twice the ECB and less trips.

Here is the solution that will make everyone happy:
1. Put the new signs up Saturday night, as they now do. It does take a long time to accomplish this task.
2. Leave the current week's sale signs up for the customer and employee convenience
3. Sunday morning pull the expired sales signs down. (Or the last 15 minutes Sat. night if workload permits)It would make sense to have each week be a different color for easy identification.

For 2 hour stores, the sale should be done aound 6pm. So around midnight the overnight shift would have to stop what they're doing, run around and pull off all the old tags while making sure not to pull off any of the new tags, AND do their weekly task of 'checking the sale' making sure everything that's in the circular is marked on the shelf. It's a good idea but not practical, if that's the right word to use

Yes! That's it. Back in my Eckerd days that's pretty much what we did. The manager would tell someone (or do it himself) to go out on the floor and pull off all the old signs. Believe me, it was not a difficult task and did not take much time. Sometimes two people would be pulling signs, so it got done twice as fast.:hectic1: I think it was called "hustle".

We always started putting up our new ad around 6 on Saturday nights. Our store's pharmacy closed then so after that it was pretty dead. The first 15 minutes or so we'd pull down the old signs and vacuum the store. With 2 of us working the ad and 1 doing the register/facing/dusting/photo, it'd usually be done before 8.

Of course, this was 8 years ago. I'm sure things have changed. The biggest being that they opened up a Walmart right behind the store so Saturday nights are probably slower than ever.

The fliers are still available so that is how customers can still get the current week's sale items.

My store is still putting signs up at noon when I go after church.

My CVS runs the sales from Wednesday to Tuesday even thought the ad says Sunday to Saturday. So Wednesday through Saturday, they actually run 2 ads. It's confusing to me. They don't mark the items on the shelf until Saturday night for the next weeks ad.
