I've had this happen in the past, when they scanned the $1 essence of beauty coupon it added $1, so she scanned it 3 times and each time it added the $1 instead of subtracting it!
:shrug7:Hello all, I went to my CVS yesterday and I walked in the door and they had these Essence beauty bag sets. I took a double take because it was priced at $4.99 ( I though great deal) This is a large size purse black or red with a cosmetic bag and 2 samples of Essences Beauty products and some other velvet item ( maybe like a rest for your neck) any how. I noticed when i was getting ready to check out. That the samples had a $1 off one full size essence beauty product. So I thought great deal.
So the cashier keeps trying so scan the coupon, tehn she trys to do it manually. Nothing worked. She finally calls a managers over. The manager, says oh those coupons expired Jan 2009. I said I just bought these bags with the coupons in them. She takes the coupons and rips them up and throws them out. I suggested that they should remove the coupons form those items. Should CVS corp. do something for me. This is wrong and very misleading. The I look at my reciept today and notice that the have 3 different time $1 non-taxable on my receipt. I never bought anything for $1 , never mind 3 times (what should I do). I can this happen? Is the scanner on the counter scanning things that I am not buying? I am wondering how many times this could have happened in the pass that I am unware of. Please let me know.![]()

Great thank you for the insight. Should I go back to the store and tell them? What do you think about them sell the items with an expired coupon? and the manager just not caring. Should CBS corp. do something about selling their items with expired coupons it wrong and misleading/:sad:
those sound like the bags leftover from last year. That stinks. I'd call corporate.
Ah, very frustrating! I'm glad you posted! I'm thinking they might do something if one person calls in. I'm pretty sure they'd do something if anyone that has those expired coupons at their store called in. I'll look when I go by. We'll assume they just don't know and we need to let them know where the bags/coupons are so they can do something about it. Call with the idea of helping them and they'll also have the benefit of knowing their customers don't like the misleading coupons.

That is SO not nice of her!
When I got my notebook fillers this fall, I got expired Qs as well, as did others.
I agree w/ a previous poster, they were probably leftovers from last year. I think the mgr should make things right.
A lot of times we don't know that products have expired coupons for sale. It's not intentionally misleading and I'd hope an associate would remove the rest of the coupons, like I'm going to do on my next shift!
I don't know what you expect the store to do about an expired coupon. What do you do with your own expired coupons? If CVS doesn't take them, I see no reason why they should take this one. I'd be more worried about CVS keeping track of the expired products they are selling before taking care of expired coupons.
You should go back to the store and get your money back that you were overcharged, suggest to the store manager they remove the expired coupons if they don't plan to honor them, and leave it at that.
