That's what I'd like to know, it's really no good if you have to use it all at once. I'd never spend $25-$30 in one transaction.

A head up. Last night I ordered $150 gift card. It was around 10 or 11 PM. Anyway, I just found a message on my cell phone that I needed to call in and verify some info because my order was over $100. So I just called in and after I got off the phone, I rec'd both certificates within seconds in my email. The woman said that it was because it was my first time ordering and that I shouldn't have this problem the next time I place an order.

I was also just scrolling through my email and I also rec'd an email asking me to call in before they issued the certificates.

So if anyone is wondering what might be delaying their certificates, this could be it.

I also received a phone call regarding my order. Certain information about the order/payment needed verified. Because of internet fraud, etc., the processing company is taking this extra step before processing the transaction for the protection of the card holder. While it did delay my order, I appreciate this practice.

I ordered the $150 one. It came in one e-mail and then the $30 bonus came in another.

I printed my eGift Card yesterday, here is what's on the bottom of it:
...

PROTECT THIS CARD AS YOU WOULD CASH!
This card may be used just like cash toward purchases at any CVS/pharmacy. Cannot be used to purchase money orders or prepaid cards. Not redeemable for cash or credit except where required by law. CVS/pharmacy cannot replace or replenish the card if it is lost, stolen or used without your authorization. Call Customer Service toll-free at 1-877-295-7777 should you have any problems concerning your gift card. To check the balance of this card, visit www . cvs . com. This gift card has no expiration date, and no dormancy or inactivity fees will be charged. Gift card retains unused balance. Balance cannot be transferred or recharged

PLEASE TREAT THIS eGIFT CARD LIKE CASH and SAFEGUARD IT ACCORDINGLY.

...
In the first line it says "toward purchases" (more than one) and also says "Gift card retains unused balance." Also, you can check your balance on their website, so I would take that to mean you don't have to spend it all in one transaction. One big eGift card could fund my CVS habit for a very long time.

I'm going to keep it in my wallet with my CVS card so I don't forget about it. But it is only printed on regular paper, so I'm wondering how worn out it might get before I spend it all. Maybe I should have printed it on heavier paper.

I will confirm these are usable in store and can be used in quantities less than the whole amount. However, if the register is in payment mode it evidently won't scan? Anyway, it had to be typed in by hand. Amount remaining shows up on receipt.

I need to know too, as this would be the only way I'd do the offer.

Also, what happens when you make a purchase? Does the cashier print a new eGC for the remaining balance?

One disadvantage to regular GCs is that these are sheets of paper which get worn out eventually. I keep my regular GCs (plastic cards) in my wallet for months until I use them up, but I wouldn't keep a folded email printout for that long (although I suppose we can just reprint them if they become too worn out).

I am thinking of ordering in more than one transaction, so I get smaller amounts. Then I could put one in my purse and the other(s) some place safe... which I probably will lose for a year and a half before I find it again

I am wondering if you can use the e giftcard to purchase other gift cards, such as Applebee's or Best Buy. If so, this would really be a sweet deal

I used my $25 eGift card for a $5.51 purchase. The cashier scanned the barcode on the page but it beeped at him. He did that several times. But then pushed some buttons and then scanned it and it went through. When I asked him what was wrong he said he was just doing it wrong the first time.

The bottom of my receipt looked something like this:

Total 5.51
Gift Card 5.51
************xxxx
Auth: xxxxxx
Account Balance: 19.49
Change: .00

The cashier does not print another eGift card. You keep your eGift card after they scan it, just like you would a regular plastic gift card. What I did was write the date, amount and remaining balance on the back of the eGift card since I know I won't be able to remember the balance later.

I'm thinking of placing a big strip of clear packing tape over the barcode area just to keep that part from wearing out. If they can't scan the barcode they can enter the numbers by hand, so that's the main thing you don't want to wear out.
