CVS ~ Store Coupon: CVS ~ New Holiday Sale Book

Ok has anyone else used this coupon from the Holiday book yet??

I did today and I had gotten 4 glade candle holders and 4 glade oil refills which came to $20 and a pack of Halloween cookies which was 99 cents

I used 2 $2/2 candle holder coupons and 4 free refills when you buy holders. All those went through fine.

My total was $6.99 and I used a $6.99 ECB

Gave him the coupon to get a $4 ECB when you spend $20

Receipt printed and I got the $6 from the Glade deal, $1 from my green bag tag and no $4 ECB

The cashier and I couldnt figure it out so he manually printed a $4 ECB for me

What went wrong????

Oh and on the coupon it just says "not to be used in conjuction with any other CVS coupon"

The cashier said maybe it was because I paid with ECBs but I really don't think that was it.

Happened to me yesterday too. I was doing the medicine deal wyb 20 get 10 ECB. My subtotal was 20 and i used 7.50 in manufacturer coupons. I didn't use any extra bucks. So my total was like $12.85. The coupon scanned and all my receipt said was something like "Free catalog xxx" and no ECB's printed. Cashier printed mine manually too.

the manager at my cvs told me the coupon was only good if you purchased items in that book. i did not think that was true. maybe he was right?

I'm wondering if you scanned the coupon before other coupons. I don't have one cause the manager took it from the book before she gave it to me so I can't try this, but here goes. Buy $20 + of what ever. Scan that coupon first when your total is over $20. Then scan your other coupons.

i believe that i have read that the coupon works more like a 4 off twenty than an ecb.

they may need to reprogram it.

The manager at my store said they are not supposed to put them out until 11-15-2009. He went ahead and gave me one because I take them candles, doughnuts & coupons. The stores catalog display information was in the catalog and it states that they are to be held behind the counter until 11-15 and says refer to store communication regarding distribution from 11/1-11/15/09. Maybe they are not working correctly because they are not supposed to be out yet. HTH

The cashiers at the store I went to also told me that the $20 has to be from the Holiday Book (that the card came out of). The cashiers at this store seem to be very well trained on coupon and ecb policies, so I believe them on this.

I really wish that the managers at the stores you all are going to would READ the communications sent from corporate. The message we got at the store told us that the message to give the books to "selected" customers would start on November 1 and that we MUST give the book to anyone who asks for one. On November 15 it is to be put on a display at the front checkout so that everyone has access to them.

I'm sorry you all are getting misinformation.

Also, I haven't had anyone try to use the coupon from the book though so I really don't know why it's not working like it's supposed to.
