I've been noticing the same thing too. I'm in Tx and I was used to not paying anything oop if i had the ecb's to cover it, but for the past 2 weeks or so, i've been having to pay a little oop even though i know, i have the ecb's to cover everything. Hmm, weird.

I am in Miss. and I had to pay taxes yesterday as well. The clerk who always waits on me told me that the ECB's were scanning as Mfg coupons instead of CVS coupons but he did not know why. Hopefully, this is a glitch in the system, but I guess we will have to wait and see!

All the newer ECB now show up on the receipt as "CVS manuf coupon" instead of "CVS coupon" and you have to pay tax on them. The older ones are still ringing CVS coupon but when I rolled my new ones at the same store, they rang as manuf and charged tax.

I am sure it was because the government was losing out on a TON of tax. I always thought it was odd that I could buy so much without paying tax, it was good while it lasted!!!

I started CVSing last fall when the first store came into our area. I have always been fascinated with not paying tax on the ECBs because I think that they technically are manufacturer coupons because I believe that CVS gets reimbursed by the various manufacturers for these deals. So, technically the non-CVS brand ECB amounts should be taxable and the CVS brand ECB amounts should not be taxable since those would be store coupons. Just my 2 cents -- but of course I liked it better when I didn't pay any sales tax on the ECB amount.

I noticed as well. I'm in florida. Most times I can pay with ecbs and it lowers tax significantly. This week, I noticed I did pay tax even if the pretax amount was exactly the same as my ecbs. Definitely something different....especially if so many of us are noticing. My guess is that this is the way it is supposed to be and they finally fixed a glitch....I could be wrong...who knows.

HELP cvs-Only 1 ExtraCareBuck per Transaction?

I tried to use 5 different ECB's to pay for my purchases today and the cashier told me that they could only take ONE per transaction!!!! Anyone else hear that today? I think it was just that particular CVS which I don't care for. I was on that side of town and thought I would try it.... I left without anything! :-(

I used 2 to pay for my items today w/o any problems or comments. I think it was just that store maybe. Sorry they gave you grief.. I hate that!

This happened to me when I was using the week of the 12th ECB. I have 2 cards and it happened with both. Luckily, the cashier put them through. I was able to use them this week with no problems.

I have had trouble 2 times in the past week using more than one ECB at once. I think the registers at my store may have been reprogramed. One time the cashier pushed it through as a CVS coupon and the other time the cashier did not. Both transactions were done at the same store.
