CVS ~ After Christmas Clearance ~ Deals, Discussions & Brags ~ 2008

I like the brown bags. There are tons of these at my store. I am hoping for a great deal.

This is my first year of CVSing. Anyone know when CVS will start the Christmas / holiday clearance (like on candy, gift wrap, other holiday stuff)? Is it the day after Christmas? When do they go 50%, 75%, 90%?

Do they clearance the toy stuff that's in the Christmas aisle?

I got some great summer clearance stuff at 90%, and Halloween at 75-90%. I can really, really use the gift wrap and toy type stuff!

My store had the christmas decorations, paper (but not toys) 50% off when I was there yesterday. I also had a $5/$15 christmas decoration coupon, so I picked up 2 lit reindeer yesterday along with some outdoor electrical cords. They didn't ring up 50% be the manager said all Christmas stuff was 50% off so he had the cashier adjust it.. I will head back on Friday to see if they are down to 75% off to burn some more ECBs

Cool! I've got a lot of CVSs in my city, so dropping by one on Friday won't be an issue so long as the weather is okay. I wonder if they have a system to the clearance or if it's manager discretion.

Stores are advised to only go to 50% this year & pack everything up. :(

The manager at my store also said they were being told to pack everything up.....she said she may go ahead and mark some things down.....we'll see!

Bummer on the packing up! Hopefully that's not a trend this year.

My CVS already had the Christmas stuff marked down. It would be a good time to use up the $5/$15 Christmas CRT.

I guess I'll pass this year and wait until it's 90% off again. I have enough wrapping paper and bowls to last a while.
