Re: seedlady's wagon train (a guide for newbies.)
I think I goofed today and need clarification. I went shopping yesterday and did well, in my opinion. When I returned home, I found a $4/$20 reward waiting for me in my email. It expired 8/7/11. Also, I printed out the $3/$10 makeup coupon from the machine from yesterday's shopping trip. It expired today. Here's where I may or may not have goofed. I used both coupons. When the shift supervisor scanned the $3/$10 coupon, the register beeped. It could have been because of the expiration date (I've read that it is sometimes time stamped or something like that) or because I was using two $/$ coupons. This was my first time using either of these. The cashier didn't question the coupon--in fact, he almost entered it a second time but I caught it in time. This is what I got.
9.99 Gillette razor
5.79 Revlon lipstick
5.79 Revlon lipstick
-------------------
-$4/$20 reward from email
-$3/$10 makeup coupon from red machine
-1.00 ECB from yesterday
-1.00 ECB from yesterday
-0.99 ECB from yesterday (had not planned on using! wanted to get the Dawn for free!)
-4.00 q for Gillette razor
---------------------
8.60 oop (tax included @ 7% $1.02 - before coupons)
---------------------
Earned $11 in ECB's for future purchases
---------------------
2.40 PROFIT from this transaction?!
=================
Could someone tell me if I did in fact goof so that I don't do it again?
Also, I was expecting to get three separate ECB's from this transaction: $5, $3, and $3 that I could use on three purchases in the future; however, the makeup ECB's were summed together. Have they always done this?

Yes if you buy them both in the same transaction.

Re: seedlady's wagon train
Semi new couponer here. Had some pretty good luck with cvs these past couple of months, but ready to take it to the next level. I absolutely love the notebook idea you talked about. I'm always able to see next week's deals, just by reading the many blogs that are out there. But, how do I get further ahead so I don't use the coupons before the best sale? I've wasted coupons several times-kicking myself 2 weeks later when a better sale comes up.I've googled everything I can think of to see ads further in advance, but no luck. Any advice you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks:)
