clearance does not normally count toward the deals.

figure that it won't, and if it does, think of yourself as lucky.

this is how i work out the coupon thingie. i take the actual coupon, and i lay it on the product.

so, to my mind- imagine you have a stack of b1g1, and 3 or 4 of the $2/2. now i get a cart, and set 2 stayfree inside. i say- ok, i BUY this one, (i move it to the other end of the cart) so i get THIS one free. i put the coupon on box #2.

then, i put 2 more bags of stayfree in, and i say- ok, i buy this one, and i get THIS one free. and i set the coupon on bag #4. now i have 4 bags, and 2 have coupons on them. so, i lay the BUY TWO coupon across the other 2, and i'm happy. that's how i work it out. each bag HAS a coupon, and no coupon covers too much or too little.

if the second coupon was buy ONE and get a dollar off, i could use it with a b1g1 and a purchase of only 2 bags. but because the second coupon needs a purchase of 2, i go ahead and use another b1g1 on the extra bag i had to buy to use the 2 dollars off.

does that help? ( my lips move while i'm working out deals. once i start talking to myself, i bail and go buy what's in my cart. but i allow lipmoving!) :)

most cvs stores take competitor's coupons. ( i think they are all supposed to, but i've seen some odd things, so i say m o s t .)

i think that whatever offers at the register i am due to get are already set in the system, and it's just that i won't know what they are till i scan my card.

previously, i had thought that the last 2- the ones i call the automatics- which this week are the nuts and the water- would print on my receipt if i didn't scan the card. but, i tested that yesterday. i bought 2 memo books, and paid with an ecb. nothing printed on my crt. then i tied the bag shut, and walked over and scanned my card. sure enough, i got the automatics. so they may indeed be only from the scanner.

but if i had been going to get any offers, they would have printed on the receipt.

Today I went to 4 different stores, made a total of 6 transactions, and spent OOP $37.24, got $140.17 in merchandise. Now I know it sounds great, but I can't afford to do this every week! It seems to me that when rolling the ECBs the total of the ECBs I have just keeps dropping with each transaction instead of building up. For example, I started the day with $6, now I have $2, and a candy deal that will be completed when I spend another $4.50, to get $5 ECB. I just can't seem to make it work any better. Any suggestions?
sure- don't buy things that aren't moneymakers!

don't ever just randomly throw junk into the cart- their regular prices are way high.

i am trying hard to close out an account that has my name on it. i don't like the cashiers to call me by name. so i figure i'll switch to one that says i'm "valued customer". i had 12 dollars in it, spent it down to 9, and today i spent the 9 and got back 6. i bought olives and tuna with the extra 3 dollars, so i'm happy. it looks like in 2-3 weeks i can empty this one. i have another account started that will be used at this store, but i want to dump one before i switch over.

i've been spending bucks and not getting any in return, so i'm down to maybe 30 or 40 bucks left. it's not like the old days.

Hi, seedlady!

You sure put a lot of info into these posts! And thanks for doing it!
I haven't gone to cvs yet. Can I sign up for a card and then immediately start to use it? And, per your last post, "it's not like the old days" do you mean the deals are a little more difficult to accumulate?

Very much a newbie here, but oh so eager to learn!

Question is on combining coupons.
Can I use a CRT with a RIB with a Manufacturers coupon?

Thanks for your time.
an offer at the register is ALWAYS a cvs coupon.

coupons from rib can be either cvs or manufacturer.

the absolute top limit is ONE cvs and ONE manu per item.

so, you have to check which kinds you have.

( you can use one that starts with 4, and another which is either 5 OR 9 , per item.)

clear?

today we look at the OTHER symbol down at the bottom left. we have done the online icon (person), and the rep button (scales).

today, meet "uhoh, better tell the mod".(triangle).

if something is seriously wrong, and you want it reported, click on the triangle, and make a note of the problem. this generates a report file down in modland, AND an email to each forum mod. mind you, we want to hear about the problems, but don't overuse the button. it is for serious matters, not just to say you don't like her haircut. if someone ticks you off, just get over it. but, if it is really serious, go ahead and punch the button. i'd rather get 3 reports than no reports.

k,seedlady. i need more.
i'm having the same problem as the other poster -- i just can't seem to "bank" many bucks. on a good week, i carry maybe 5 til the next week. i do lots of of multiple transactions at a few different stores (trying to be on the down low!) i'm getting good deals, using qs, and usually have a pretty low oop--many times i spend nothing due to series buying.

i was seriously contemplating having a huge oop this week just so i can build my bank and "start over" with all the bucks i can get on on the 8/2 flyer (about $50).

i feel like i have done something wrong and i don't know how else to "fix" it.

help!
