I am a newbie to CVS & couponing, just learned that all these deals were even possible over the last week and a half or so. I've been reading about all your great savings, and now I can finally post something on my progress-- what I am especially thrilled about is my low OOP after all this:

Started the week with 4 ecb from last week on my first transaction: 2 8pks duracells on sale & with 2 man. q's & one $5/2, one Vaseline lotion tube on clearance, OOP after q's: $5.60 (w/4 ecb back):

    This week:
    3 promax bars (3/$5)
-4 ecb from last weeks transaction

    Total OOP: 1.00
    got back 5 ecb

    2 Bodiheat @3.99 ea.
    -1.00 peelie
    -1.00 peelie
    -5 ecb from prev. transaction

    Total OOP: 1.04
    got back 6 ecb

    Complete solution 8.99
    -2.00 q
    -6 ecb from prev. transaction

    Total OOP: 0.99
    got back 8.99 ECB

    Bodiheat 3 pk 3.99
-1.50 peelie (I went to a different CVS there was only one pkg with the peelie on it, the rest didn't even have the 1.00 peelie)

    Total OOP: 2.64
    got back 3 ecb

I now have a 3.00 ecb and 11.99 ecb which I plan to use this week on:

    (future scenario)
    Tide 12.00
    Duracell 4pk, 2 @3.00 ea.
    -$5/2 duracell
    -1 Tide q
    -3 ecb
    -11.99 ecb

Total OOP should be 0.01 plus tax :o). And I get back 5 ecb which I can get more promax bars on.

Just have to make sure my CVS isn't out of the $5/2 yet (they had them last wk behind the counter).

Thanks all for all your help! I've learned a TON from this place!

Hi. I'm very new here. I have got to tell you - CVS sounds very intimidating! I am confused half the time when I read these posts. I am going to CVS for sure this week - just to try it out. I have never even been in that store before.
Now, about the last post - with the many diff transactions for this week. Are they separate transactions? DO you have to go back diff days? Or is that all in one trip?
    Thanks in advance!

You can make multiple transactions in the same trip if you don't want to got to CVS 50 million times a week. When you go, make sure to get a CVS card and use it every time. Then when you buy something that gives ECBs, save them (they come on your receipt) for use next time.

want to play cvs? take an envelope, and put 6 dollars in it. go to cvs, get (a new) or use your (own) card, and buy a powerade.

go out to the car, and drink the powerade, while you look at the ecb that printed. go back into the store, and buy 3 promax bars, and pay with the 1.69 ecb, and some money from your envelope.

take the 3 bars to the car, and the 5 dollar ecb, and look at them. take the ecb from them back in, and buy 3 more bars. repeat the looking and buying until you have 15 bars, at which point your receipt should say *limit reached* note suddenly that the powerade says *limit reached* after only one.

hmm- those limits are different numbers. make a note to yourself to keep an eye on the limits.

now look in the envelope- you should have almost a dollar, and your final 5 dollar ecb. save it for your next deal. you should be missing the tax and bottle deposit , but most of your original 6 should still be visible- 5 in an ecb, and some in a pile of change. and there you have cvsing in it's simplest form.

oh- you also have either a powerade or the empty bottle, and 15 lunches. hmm. not bad as a start!

go on, get busy. i'll wait.

just a warning to newbies- as seedlady said "pay attention to the limits". This was my biggest problem at first!

seedlady- I have repped you... great visual with the envelope with $6.00 in it. Also, query: everyone talks about "peelies." Do I pull these directly off of the item I plan to purchase? Haven't seen them yet, but am going to CVS probably tomorrow to look for them on the Bodiheat.

I’m new too. I don’t drink powerade but that sounds like so much fun I’m going tomorrow to try it. In the sales paper it says… $5.00 ecb when you buy 3 promax bars. I thought you had to buy all 3 at the same time so are you saying that is not right and that you can buy them 1 at the time and you get the $5 ecb after the 3rd is bought?
