Newbie here trying to work a deal and I need a little help.

I have $17.35 in ECBs. I also have a $5.00 off any $15 purchase.

I think I will try to get two Sally Hansen Nail polishes (5.99 each)
And three Thermacare Heat wraps. (2.49 each).

Will/can it work like this:
Sally Hansen 5.99 x 2 = 11.98 - MQ (.50 each x2) = 10.98
Thermacare 2.49 x3 = 7.47
Total = $18.35.
minus $5.00 of $15 ECB (new total $13.35)
minus $7.29 ECB (new total $6.06)
minus $2.99 ECB (new total $3.07)
minuse $2.59 ECB (new total $.48)
OOP $.48

Receive back ECBs of $11.98 and $7.47.

??????

okay, I just realized that neither the Sally Hansen or Thermacare give ECBs after today, but still, would the deal have worked if I did it on time?

I was late to the stores Monday, no listerine, thermacare, A&H (was all I was looking for extra) - did get nail polish, sleep aid, excedrin - topped off my roleaids, crest mouthwash (allowed me to get an ointment I use for my skin for free which was nice). They offered me a rain check for the listerine which I thought was nice. They also let me roll my ecb's while I was there :) Saw a guy who came in and grabbed a listerine (didn't think it was the right one heh) who had a spreadsheet (peeks in here) hehe.

I'm slowly learning, thanks to you all!!

No, unless it's a huge ticket item ($10 or more) I eat the loss. I figure I get enough stuff for free and I'm not going to do perfect transactions every time--win some, lose some. Sometimes deals work out better than planned sometimes not.

I like to try to stay under the radar as much as possible. I know that at my main CVS, all the cashiers and mgrs know my face, so I try to be a good customer. Lots of CVSers complain about cashiers and mgrs, I think it's equally as important that you be a good customer.

Let's face it, when you buy items with ECBs and coupons, it makes the return transaction more of a hassle. So I just deal with it and it keeps me on my toes for next time.

Just yesterday I purchased 3 Crest mouthwashes. I thought the limit was 3, it was 2. So my $3 nailpolish coupon went to cover my mouthwash instead of giving me extra ECBs. But on Sunday, the cashier gave me a free Jingle Bells dog by accident (Hallmark item) that was 4.99. So it's all a wash. In the end it always works out and you get tons of free stuff.

CVS has lots of Band Aids on sale for $.99 week of 12-21, regularly $3.xx. With the $3/3 J&J IP from here: Print Your Coupon
you can get three (or six, if you print twice) for free.

This was posted in another thread, but disappeared suddenly. :shrug7:

The one and only store I went to Monday night was out of everything. They had made copies of rainchecks because they had to give so many out. I was shocked that they were out of everything because we got hit with two record breaking storms between Friday and Monday. I also couldn't get a raincheck for The A&R because they will not be restocking.
