First clue should have been that the scanner was not working, no extra coupons. Ok, no biggie. My regular one doesn't have that anyway, so it was just a bonus. There were NO sale tickets on the sale items that are free after ECB. Hmm. Very low stock anyhow. I got the last Excedrin and last Zantac. They were dented boxes, but took them anyway. No Benefiber, no Thermacare (got rainchecks, amazingly).
I bought a Gillette Fusion gift kit (11.99 for the person who was asking) and a pack of Fusion razor blades to get the ECB. Had the $4 off razor plus used the free shampoo and free body wash coupons. That was a pretty good deal.
Cashier was not coupon friendly or knowledgable. I had 2 Revlon coupons and they both beeped. Why do they always beep??? Halls coupon also beeped (I bought 2). She would not let me use the J&J coupon for the lesser amount of first aid kits. I had to buy 4. They would not adjust the coupon.
Cashier did not ring up the coupon for free body wash. Had to check my receipt and ask for the manager. I explained several times that they owed me $4.99 for the free item. He was not getting it. I was on the verge of returning the whole transaction. He didn't seem to care. He finally did give me $5 back in cash. He also said they would not adjust the coupon down for the J&J items. I also mentioned that there were no sale tags for many items throughout the store (Listerine, Excedrin, Zantac, Benefiber, Thermacare...). He said "well, it's a bad season for that." That's it. It literally took the cashier 20 minutes to ring up my stuff and try to figure out all the coupons. She and another cashier were exchanges glances and muttering to each other. I was in there for over an hour with a cranky 2 year old. That just added to the nightmare.
BUT, in the end, I did get an enormous amount of extra bucks and a bunch of free stuff. I do think I will be calling CVS customer service about the rude cashiers and manager, though. There's just no need when I had legitimate coupons and transaction.
Ok, thanks for letting me vent. I will probably hit my favorite store where I work tomorrow (Willow Grove, PA) to get a few things. They have a scanner, great managers, and usually a huge stock of stuff!
