My trips went JUST as planned too! I was so pleased that the cashiers were happy to help (& well, thay were thankful I told them the sale started thanksgiving DAY, not the day after, b/c they had no idea!!! & then they were able to go get the freebies themselves!) All 6 of my transactions for both mine & my husbands cards went just as planned - heck, I was able to get my tax lowered to just about nothing, b/c the transacvtions went so well & I was able to pay with ECB's 1st & Q's last! It was a wonderful day, that is for surE!!!

I actually didn't get to CVS till 2 hours after opening and everything but the Garnier was in stock.

Then tonight went in with my sister's card and everythign but 3 items were STILL in stock for her and she was THRILLED. I am really surprised that despite seeing people in the store getting the electronics, pillows, etc that no one got the make up, etc.

What a great quick trip yesterday! My friend & I went when they opened at 9. I found all the things I was looking for (although I didn't try Maybelline since I had gotten it earlier in the week & wasn't sure if it was the same deal or not). I did two planned-out transactions to bump up my ECBs, since I only had $24 going in & I had a $10/50 to use on the 2nd one. I think I spent $1.01 oop and .52 oop on those. Then I got a crockpot with some of the "proceeds" (.01 oop) and a rice cooker (ditto)to donate to a refugee family arriving in our town soon. I had just been told that morning what an important thing a rice cooker would be for this family & was really glad to donate $10 of the free ECBs I earned! After all that, 45 minutes later I left with my bags of stuff & appliances and $10 more in ECBs than when I began. AND a raincheck for Crest and Complete solution:) Happy Thanksgiving!

I was also pleasantly suprised! I went to one of my lesser fave stores simply because it was the closest 24hr and I went at 11p to check out at midnight TG day. They were not only nice, but the mgr said he would check us out just in case any of the ECB didn't print he could take care of it right then. He said, so you have 3 orders right?...and said it nicely?!! AND they have EVERY single Freebie in stock.

The 2nd store I got to (for DH card)....they had all but the Garnier wipes in stock, I had planned to go to 3 CVS to split up my trans (i had 9 between both cards), but the 2nd store was D-E-A-D and the cashier was super nice so I asked if it was ok to do a couple more trans. He said sure!

ALSO - I took the advice of someone on here (forgot where i read it) about taking a "gift" for my cashiers. I gave each of them a "Happy Holidays" card with cpns for a free coke from MCR and free Hershey wyb Coke inside, and a few Reeses pb cups taped to the envie.

I have had a great time at CVS the last two days. My son (17) asked the lady behind us if she was a couponer. She had the back page in her cart. She told him not really and I proceeded to explain to her how to do her deals. They were out of the Bic razors and by this time another couponer had come up. The asst. mgr saw we did not have the razors and told us to wait while she went to the back. She came back with razors for all of us. The lady my son and I were helping left with $43 ECB's and was on cloud nine. I went back again today and the cashier that rang me up proceeded to tell my DH how good I am. Tonight we walked out with 3 12 packs of Coke (this is my coffee), 14 deodorants (Dri Idea Pulse and Right Guard plenty of stock left), and a box of tampons and shick razor for $1.33. She laughed and asked if I am stocked up for a year on deodorant. I already am, this will be donated. Having a :bonde1: I didn't think to give them anything for working on Thanksgiving. I will be sending a letter to corporate which will hopefully give them more than I could give.

To my surprise there was NO ONE at my CVS Thanksgiving morning. Everything was in stock and my tranz worked out perfectly.

Going to try to venture out Saturday, to CVS ... haven't figured out how you folks cook a dinner for 15 people (even with help), and feel like going shopping that night! Went to get a burger today, and person got my order wrong ... first thought was to shove burger down her throat, followed by drink -- I didn't, but I did get my order straightened out (and, hopefully, the point that I was the paying customer at the time and, instead of worrying about some cute guy behind me, maybe she should listen to what I was ordering).

Bottom line, figured I needed to be in "time out" for the rest of the day, and have a good long nap, before I went out dealing with folks!

I'm sorry folks, but it's really one of my gripes that customers and cashiers alike seem to think it's fine to talk/text on cell phone or carry on a conversation with someone else while they're conducting a transaction at the register. I'm "old." To me, it's just downright rude behavior, on either side of the counter -- it tells the other person they are not deserving of your attention (but just let the transaction get messed up ... then what happens?).
And, yes, if I'm at a register and get a call, I tell the person I have to call them back, because I'm conducting business with this nice cashier, and he/she deserves me to be polite enough to give them my full attention ... and then apologize to the cashier for the interruption.
You'd be surprised at how appreciative the other person is when you do this. As a paying customer, I deserve the cashier's full attention during my transaction unless I ask them to go ahead and help another customer. As a person, the cashier deserves the same polite behavior from me. It helps to build a working relationship with that person, because you are treating them AS a person, and as an equal.
climbing off my soapbox now, though I could say much more on the subject!

I noticed alot of out of towners in our store and what I'm sure were HCW'ers. Unfortunately my store had a few whiners in it, making my girls at the registers a little crazy. I got everything except 2 of the Shick, didnt realize the limit was 2 per card. I screwed up and didnt give 13 of my extra bucks to lower my OOP but it was crazy in there so I was lucky to get out of there with 60$ extra ECB's.

I was so disappointed. :frown: Well, while I was checking out, she went and looked around the store and found another one (in the toy section) and gave it to me to buy! That was so nice of her and was a great surprise.
I was also surprised that I had finally added up all my 3 transactions almost to the penny.
Yes, i wanted one to and everyone else must have as well. After almost being done there i went and talked to one of the managers. I said to her i suppose you are all our of the griddles and the manager said yes, then another one came buy and said wow already.

I just put the last one out. So she said let me go see i might have 1. I bet she had it aside for her or someone else. She came back and said here you go. I said oh, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I think she over heard me and a customer talking near the line. The customer was commenting to me on my coupon box. I said yes, i dare not leave it at home. She goes well you can always go back home and get it. I said no i can't. I drive 1 hour away to come here. She was like you do really ? I do i told her. I only come to cvs when there is a good sale on something i need. My car get's good gas mileage. It cost me a whole $4 round trip to drive there. I stay there for about 1-2 hours and get everything i need. No i do not clear the shelves either. I usually only have 3 coupons per item that i need and i do not do every deal. Just the things i know i need or can donate.

Everyone was real nice there. I had 3 ladies ask me if i needed help. They didn't even work there, they were shoppers. So thank you if you were shopping from HCW @ cvs in Lincoln, NE.

I went to three different stores the morning of Thanksgiving and only found stuff at the first store. I did pretty well, though, and was happy with what I got.

After lunch with my family I asked my sister if she had a CVS by her. The only one was kind of far but I went just to see (wanted another Schick for my DH). I got there and they had 2 left so I got one.

There was a couponer that was just leaving and I overheard the two cashiers talking about how ridiculous it's getting with all these coupon people getting so much stuff and taking advantage.

I felt bad for the girl leaving. It wasn't like she had cleaned the shelves or anything. She had just the basic few items that were free after ECBs. I guess they were upset about working on Thanksgiving so I was REALLY nice to the guy ringing me up and he was VERY pleasant. I didn't have coupons but used my ECBs to pay for the razor and he seemed OK with that.

I was just proud to have another razor!
