    HOT CVS mgr said Im coupon fraudulent

    I'm so mad and upset right now I am shaking.... I went to get some stuff at one of the two CVS's I shop at. Never had an issue here before. Well, I was getting 6 Loreal Hydra Gloss sh/Cond, 9 travel size satin care shave gels and a few other clearance items. The shave gel coupons werent working so the mgr cam over and put them through as one amount. The total came to $14 which I knew was not right it should have been about $2.

    So I went to my car to check. She had missed 3 of the shave gel coupons ($3), rang me up for an extra shampoo (4.99), and missed 1 other coupons (1.50). So close to $9 over charged.

    So I went back inside, and the manager and cashier were standing there. I said very nicely, some things didn't ring up right. So the cashier opened her drawer and was going one by one through each item to check. Well the manager came over and said very nasty, you need to help these other people... I will DEAL with this. So she takes my stuff over to another counter. First she tells me the shave gel coupon should not have been rung up because they were on travel size which she didn't know. I said the coupons say ANY size and do not exclude travel. She said well they are only $1 to begin with, I said YEP. She called the other store I sho pat to ask them about the travel size shave gels and the manager there told her they are fine. Then she sees the BOGO sale on the Shampoo and Conditioner and my BOGO coupons and starts flipping.

    She says are you "KIDDING ME"???? You are getting both for few. I said the BOGO store sale is giving me one free. The BOGO coupon is from the manufacturer which you get the money for. She said no way. I said you absolutely can use them. Then she said "I know people like you, you coupon fraudulent people" WHAT????????? I got pissed. I said I have called CS many times about what you can and cannot do. She said "are you serious? For coupons?" I said absolutely, to know what is and is not allowed. She grabbed my receipt and walked away to refund the one shampoo that was there that I didnt have (only refunded me 3.32??? not 4.99) And said Im going to look into this because this is not right! I said, look if you want to take them off teh order go ahead I dont want you getting in trouble...She goes "I'm my own boss, I CANT get in trouble" I grabbed my stuff and left. Of course CS is not open so I cant call.


    Im so mad right now. I really wanted to slap her. Frankly Ive been in some strange situations at stores before but nothing like this that made me walk out of the store mumbling 4 letter words as I walked to my car. What a B!

    I know your mad and I would be too but calm down and know that you did nothing wrong. Work out what you're going to say to CS when you can call them and get this uninformed (about who she works for) woman put into her place. Be sure to ask to speak to the district manager. I'm sure he's be very glad to know who this woman "thinks" she works for.

    Yep yep yep! And I would make sure to point out if there were other customers that could've heard, as well as the cashier.

    It sounds like a coupon witch manager I dealt with a long time ago. She voided my entire transaction, laid out all the coupons on the products and was mad as he// when everything was correct and I got like a $.02 OOP. It's rather gratifying when you KNOW you're doing the right thing and there's not a darn thing they can do about it.

    I emailed CVS and asked about their coupon policy which I now have in my wallet showing who it came from at CVS corporate. Solves most of my problems.

    Please do not let it go.
    Write to the corporate, explain them what's happened and how arrogant managers "help" to boost store sales. That coupon illetarate jerk thinks she's saving store's money by not allowing legit coupons, huh? :shrug7:
    Be sure you speak with DM, tell them exact words this employee said to you. I also agree with derketchup that what this manager said is slander and you can file a formal complaint.

    It's always hard to say cool and level-headed when a manager (or other associate) acts like that. Sounds like you did a good job. I'd love to hear what happens when you call customer service. :)

    Thank you all so much. I hate being made to feel like a criminal . Hindsight is definitely 20/20, but I keep coming up with things I SHOULD have said lol:

    Like...Really? You're your own boss? Since when did CVS become privately owned?
    I'm sure your District Manager would love to know you think you can't get in trouble?

    GRRRRR still so annoyed lol. Really want to go smack her face :)~

    She indeed can become her own boss if corporate decide to let her go from her current position as a CVS employee..
    Cool down and never even attempt to speak in such manner with corporate CS or DM. Show them respect but be firm, and they will respect you in return.
