Thumbs Down NOT Happy w/ CVS "Deals"

I do NOT expect to get everything I buy for free. I also get NOTHING but haassles at my closest store when I use a mfg BOGO on a CVS BOGO ad item. They will NOT take the mfg q. However, the items and ECB payments for the last month AND next appear to be WAAAY off my personal product list. I do NOT need panty liners/tampex (WAAAAY beyond that stage) and can/will donate only so much, esp w/ the LOW purchase limits. I will NOT spend $15-20 to get $5 in ECB.

I am curtrently "burning" my accumulated ECB on household/food items because I find NOTHING else to buy. I will NOT continue this. CVS shelf prices are WAAAAY over EVERY other store in my area and the only "redeeming" feature was the ECBs but NOT if I am BIG $$$ out of pocket.

I plan to take the nest month (maybe 2/more) OFF. I will do the freebies for Aug in mid Aug w/ my remaining ECB/mfg q's. Then will watch and be VERY careful how I spend my hard earned $$$.

Yes, I do know that I am a single household and not even a drop in the "grand" CVS scheme of things. However, I REFUSE to pay anything more than I have to for ANYTHING!!!!

AMEN lol, I have actually spent down my ECB's to $10...and that $10 is only cause I haven't gotten back to the store to try to find something to buy with it lol.

Fwiw, I just went back into CVS last week for the first time since March. Oddly enough, I didn't miss a thing and now I plan to starting back for a few months. Before, I didn't miss a week and often went several times a week. Now, I'll do what I want in one trip and take it easier.

Also, I have great people at my CVS, so that makes all the diff in the world.

I've got $55 in CVS GC and $18.99 in ECBs and there's nothing in the weekly or monthly book that turns me on. The only thing coming up that would actually do me any good is the coke deal Sunday 4/$11. I have a bunch of $1/2 12-packs. I'm going to buy 8 boxes of coke, use my Qs, and blow my ECBs. Then, they are going to have to have some way better deals to get me back. The ECB deals lately haven't been any good at all.

I was very happy with 4 bottles of Olay Regenerist Facial Moisturizer free.
And my kids had a blast making 6 photo books free. Just a few examples. I seem to be finding good deals right now, but I'm sure all of our needs are different.
I have had weeks where nothing appealed to me.

I donated 18 bottles of Hydra gloss to the women's shelter this weekend...they were very pleased with CVS. I just simply explained to my cashier what I was collecting for and she had no problem ringing up my coupons...guess it really does depend on who you get.

FWIW, outside of the clearance makeup and the completely free toothbrushes and toothpaste, along with the coke deals, I haven't been doing CVS for a while. I love makeup, and we totally live on sodas, so that's ok with me. I take the piddly ECB I get from doing those deals and use them on stuff for DH like the deodorant on sale this week. He's brand loyal to that.

I've not been nuts about CVS since they started limiting their deals -- oh gosh what was that, over a year ago?
