~ 7/27-8/2 ~DEAD: CVS ECB Deals - NEW PICS!!

All I can say is what a major PITA this was. Not one of 3 stores would take the coupons. If they hadn't beeped, I'd be fine, but the beeping necessitated an examination of the screen, protests that I couldn't use them together, confusion over policy ("well, it depends on who's on..." at which point I gave up because clearly there is no policy if it "depends"), calls to the manager, etc. One "manager" thought the problem was because the coupon read "one per purchase" then forced through the one; the cashier told me if he had realized it was a b1g1, I wouldn't even have gotten that: I was "lucky." A different "manager" referenced last week's Trident b1g1 situation (maxed it out, thank you very much; evening staff is much easier to work with) & how people were "taking advantage," implying the stores were getting ripped off somehow. Gotta love ignorance. It makes the world go round.

Normally, I have no problems with b1g1 if I am careful not to completely max out a deal & clear out the shelves all at one time and if I write the price on the coupon. Now I am the coupon lady who tried to scam them & then argued about it. Great. So much for the radar & flying under it.

I even tried to get a bag of the orange ones (didn't want) just so one would take without beeping just to prove the deal was OK. Nope, it beeped. I told the one store that showed promise that I'd had problems with the coupons elsewhere (sort of true: different CVS), that they weren't coded right or something & could she try just doing it as a manu coupon; did it & it worked beautifully...until she saw it was b1g1 already & after some hemming & hawing & much muttering to herself about what to do & if it would be alright, I told her to just take them all off, I didn't want her to get in any trouble & that I'd buy the Life Savers at Shoprite. I don't know what happened to my CVS stores: invasion of the body snatchers maybe? Someone abusing the deals? I never had a problem with the b1g1 sales before, even the previous b1g1 Life Savers that didn't generate ECBs. Unbelievable.

I won't be basing any ECB plans around b1g1 sales at CVS ever again, that's for certain.

FYI - this isn't an ECB deal, but it makes for some CHEAP english muffins (great filler in both essences of the word!)

12 Pack Thomas' on sale for $1.99 (Normally $4.99) - at this price it's still better than my monthly grocery store sale of buy (1) 6 pack at $3.39 and get (2) free.

Grocery Sale: (18) Muffins for $3.39 ($.19 each) versus CVS Sale: (12) Muffins for $1.99 ($.17 each) and is still cheaper than my Store brand: $2.19 for a 6 pack (which is never on sale) ($.37 each)

I stocked up!!

I got them @ 1am... Limit 1

I got them at 6am in Houston and was able to get 2 on one transaction....
they were both the "ultra" type...I think two is the new limit....the bottom of my receipt says "Offer limit reached". Hope this works for you.

Yeah-- I got the FREE bars (which I never would have bought!) but now I need to go back and spend $2 more... what will I buy??? I am sure I can think of something!!!!

The bars will go to church to the clothing closet and someone will get some use out of them.

I bought a full size baby wash for $3.99 and had a $1q. I spent 10 ECB adn got 10 ECB back :)

...I just wish I had the bigger add for a few of the other deals. I asked what was up with the little ad and was told that the area I live in has inventory this week and next. She also said that next weeks add is really big and back to the normal. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I hope this is the reason...I was bummed too...but did I read that in Cincinnati they have the regular ad with all the good ECB deals? If so, maybe DH and I will have to make a day out of it (I will just have to find something that he will want to do...hmmm)...

The Payday chocolate bars were tag at my store but they didn't produce ECBs after I paid for them. The skor worked no problem though. For those who don't have lifesavers coupons or don't want to be hassled checked you gas stations for 0.50/1 any skor/payday coupons.

Mine says offer limit reached after buying 1 in Houston at 10am...
