SMILE Email from CVS *Updated (again) see OP*

Edited 5/27 to add: Here's an even better response. Very detailed. I used the old questions from a year ago.

Rookies:Suggested Reading (look at the bottom of this page)

This email did not answer all the questions I asked but, it's better than nothing.

    Dear Valued Customer,

I would like to provide you with an answer to your question regarding the number of Extra Bucks that may be used per purchase.

First, an open ended coupon is one that is not earned such as, $2 off $10 purchase, $3 off $15 purchase, $4 off $20 purchase, $5 off $30 purchase, $10 off $50 purchase, $15 off $75 purchase, per transaction. These open ended coupons can not be used with another open ended coupon.

For example: the transaction amount is $25 and you have a $2 off $10 and a $3 off $15. You can ONLY use one of these coupons, not both.
Open ended coupons can be used with an ExtraBucks coupon (earned coupon). For example:
The transaction amount is $25 and you have a $2 off $10 and an ExtraBucks coupon for $5. You CAN use BOTH coupons on this transaction.

    Additional info:
Limit of one purchase-based savings coupon, i.e., $2 off $10 purchase, $3 off $15 purchase, $4 off $20 purchase, $5 off $30 purchase, $10 off $50 purchase, $15 off $75 purchase, per transaction. The purchase threshold must be met for each offer amount on a per-transaction basis.

Legal copy used on Emailed coupons:
This coupon is the copyrighted property of CVS; it is intended for use by ExtraCare cardholders who subscribe to CVS’s email program and have received this message directly from CVS/pharmacy. CVS/pharmacy reserves the right to reject any coupon presented by parties outside of the original distribution list. Original coupon must be relinquished at the time of purchase. Coupon is void if copied, transferred and where prohibited by law. CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles of this offer.

Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. However, the staff should be allowing customers to use Extra Bucks in combination with other CVS coupons since these are coupons you have “earned.” In addition, similarly they should be allowing the use of “offer at the register” coupons which would be an open offer of $3 off of $15 or a certain dollar amount off of a specific item. Since our registers are programmed to only accept 2 coupons (1 CVS, 1 manufacturer) per item if the number of coupons exceed the items purchased a member of management will need to assist the cashier in processing the coupons.

Stores retain the right to refuse or limit coupons at their discretion.

I regret to inform you that at this time we are no longer able to reset lost or expired coupons. In the past we have reset coupons as a courtesy however; we are no longer able to grant this request. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your understanding in this matter.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us either by e-mail or by calling (800) 746-7287. Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I hope you have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

    Rita H

This is a bit OT but has anyone found the reason why we are no longer getting CRTs?

Is it still okay to use a $2/$10 and a $3/$15 on $25, worth of stuff, if you are able to break your order up in to a $10 order and a $15 order? Looks like we will have to do even more smaller, separate orders, which is what many of us have been doing for a while. This is a setback for those of us who have previously been able to combine these on larger ticket items like digital cameras or patio furniture, etc.

Is it okay to post about using these $/$$ at competitors like WAGs since CVS doesn't want as much of our bidness anymore?

Since corporate customer service can't do it any longer, is it still okay to ask our local store managers (nicely) if they can help us out and honor reasonably recent expired ECBs and $/$$ coupons?

It was what I expected but, I just wanted to have it be up to date.

HOT Re: Email from CVS *Updated*

If CVS wants to play in this game they have to set the rules. I understand that. Now, They better get stock in and on the shelf to play fairly, I live in Walgreens country and they always have lots of stock, and lots of different product on the shelves. If you want my business and a lot a my friends of the programs business then stock your shelves......gas is way toooo spensive to travel for trinkets......I will drive by on my way home and say they do not have anything I or my family needs. We are stocked up for the next 4 years on toothpaste, brushes, deo, poo, razors, lotion, prep h, alergy meds, sex lube, candy, laundry, and etf'ingcetera. Advertise and produce....it's time we consumers stop putting up with empty shelves on advertised deals, quitely accepting a strike out shopping trip....what a waste of time and effort.....CVS is laughing at YOU....this is not acceptable, again not acceptable....I wish we could start a boycot for just one week and let them see what we do to improve the bottom line...even if it is just 27c at a time......I hope you all will reply with your thoughts.

Thank you for posting Kim and keeping us up to date on CVS policy. I know it takes a lot of time to do this!

I haven't used a $/$$ in so long, but I am still getting great deals. It can be done!

I agree that it is a PITA to go and not have stock on the shelves for the items you want, especially when you drive +30 minutes to get their. I don't want to special order items, but maybe that is the way to go in the future. I have one store that has the BEST staff, but it is such a small store...even when the manager orders items, they don't always come in. You win some, you lose some.

    Thanks again Kim!

I CHOOSE NOT TO LOSE SOME!!! I talk with mngers and they undertand the game....."trucks don't deliver" is not an excuse when I pay $4 a gallon........1 trip a week, that is it, and I am a dude and I dig the mgrers at 4/6 stores I visit....but wtf? get stock for product, why do I have to ask, why do I have to ask??? 1 trip a week, now......65 ecb's to burn and churn (coining the fraze B&C, add it too the list, et al roll)...here we go!!!
